During the week of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, I decided to get myself a new laptop. I don't really need it at home but I really wanted to bring a laptop to whenever I go on vacation such as when I went to Florida during the beginning of January. The laptop that I purchased is the HP Pavilion g6x Series in the color pacific blue since blue is one of my favorite colors. The price of the laptop was $424.99 and with tax it came to be about $460.00 which I think it is a pretty good deal and I am pleased with it.
Here are the specs of my laptop:
- 15.6" LED screen. It is not a small size laptop, so it is pretty heavy to carry around.
- I got in the shade pacific blue which is beautiful. I kind of wish I got the purple instead at the end but I am still happy with it.
- Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
- 4GB DDR3 System Memory
- 500GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive
- Intel Core i3-370M + Intel(R) HD Graphics
- 6-Cell Lithium-Ion Battery (standard) - Up to 4.25 hours of battery life
- HP Webcam with Integrated Digital Microphone
- 802.11b/g/n WLAN
- Standard Keyboard
I am not a type of person who knows a lot about computers and stuff like that. I only needed a laptop that can do it's basic needs and nothing too outstanding since I don't game or anything. I just browse most of the time, so my brother recommended me to get this one. I am happy with it but the only con I have about it is that the battery life kind of sucks. It doesn't really last up to 4 hours like it claims but oh well, I can always get another battery as back up if anything. Overall, I am please with it and happy I finally got a laptop, now I don't need to fight over my computer with my boyfriend when he is over LOL =)

i'm still on the PC side, but i can see how enjoyable a lap top wouold be. i still haven't gotten one yet. the one you have looks HUGE and i've never seen a blue lap top like that before

That looks and sounds like a great laptop! I hope you enjoy it. I really like the blue color. As for me, I prefer a laptop, but sometimes a desktop does have its uses too. The one I own is the 13" MacBook Pro.

I bought this exact laptop about 6 months ago (but in pink) and really love it. I agree that the battery life isnt exactly 4 hours-i noticed that right away. Other then that i love it!

Im surpized that battery life sucks its a six cell battery those are suppose to be better than the four cell batteries. I think I have a four cell battery in my work computer it does fine for me, but at work I have it on a docking station.
Looks like a great laptop. My HP laptop lasted me a good 5 years.. It's got me through college and is finally starting to break down a bit. I'll probably invest in a Mac next, we'll see..
that was a decent price for a laptop! I prefer laptops because you can carry them around and you can work on them wherever as long as your battery allows... I have a Dell laptop for 4 years now and it still works fine

$460 for a 15.6" is a great deal. i love the blue on the cover and the keyboard area
I think all laptop batteries suck.. well apart from the apple ones so ive been told . Mine and my sisters claimed 4 hours too and it defenetly didnt last that long! I do love the look of this laptop and well the colour.. Blue is my favourite colour so i love it! Got a good deal there.

It's such a pretty shade! I got a laptop from my boyfriends friend - he no longer uses it he prefers to use his smartphone since he really only reads his e-mail and goes on facebook. It's alright ... but I want a nice pretty new one LOL.
