This past Christmas, I bought tickets to Wicked for my dad, sister and I to see it on Christmas Eve. My dad loves all kinds of shows, may it be a movie or a live acrobatic performance. Because of that, Wicked was really for my dad, but since I’m the older, and the oldest, I usually pay for everything and the little one’s name just goes on the presents. You know how that goes! Lol. My sister and I wanted to let my dad know ahead of time about Wicked, just in case my dad had something else planned for us on Christmas Eve during that specific time of the show. So in addition, we wanted something else for my dad to actually open on Christmas Day.
If you read some of my previous posts, it comes very easy to me when shopping for people, may it be a family member or a friend of a friend. I always have something in mind of what I want to get for someone. Well, my dad is the exception. Aside from shows, my dad, as I’m sure a lot of parents are, is very hard to shop for. My sister and I gave him so many clothes in the past, he actually told us to stop. Plus, he likes to shop on his own, by and for himself. My dad is also a simple man, he has never been into colognes or fragrances. I’ve also bought many gadgets for him, and over the years I’ve slowly ran out of ideas.
I was browsing online, and I came upon the Gorillatorch. I wasn’t set on buying it right away, because it’s one of those items I can see my dad either really liking it or not. It’s one of those items that can be really useful for him, or just end up collecting dust because he might think it’s silly. So, I didn’t order it, but still kept it as an idea in the back of my head. I was online browsing and shopping another day later and I happened to see the Gorillatorch on sale as one of Amazon’s “Cyber Monday” deals. I remember beforehand, if I were to get for my dad, I wanted to get it in blue, because that’s his favorite color, but the blue cost over $10 more than the other colors! When I saw the deal, I immediately told my sister, and ordered the blue one right away.
My dad is an IT guy, and he is always fixing computers, among other things around the house. He always would call us over to help him by holding a flashlight while he’s trying to fix computer parts. And half of the time, he would always yell at us, because we would hold the flashlight “wrong”, or it’s not shining at the right spot. Also, regular flashlights are just not bright enough.
The Gorillatorch solves all of my dad’s problems and more!
Mini Description:
- Tripod with flexible legs that can wrap around many objects, such as a chair’s leg or even a tree branch so you can be hands free while working on any project.
- Feet of the legs are magnetic, and that is ideal for working on your car.
- Waterproof, don’t have to worry about rain or any water spills!
- The bulb is LED and is a super bright white light that can be adjusted to different light settings! Dim or bright!
- It is battery operated, and it already comes with batteries, so that is a plus!
- Compact and lightweight, and it’s not only ideal for fixing household items, but you can bring it to camping or even out in your backyard when grilling!
Needless to say, even though I was a little nervous, my dad LOVED it! And my dad will let us know the honest truth about his thoughts on any gift. When he opened it on Christmas morning, he was playing around with it and shining the Gorillatorch on our faces, and laughing. My sister and I weren’t so much since we were squinting our eyes because it was so bright! My dad was having fun wrapping it around the chairs in the house and playing with the magnetic feet and sticking it to everything. I’m so happy my dad loves it!
May you be into gadgets, a handy person, grill master, or someone that is on the go, the Gorillatorch can be a great gift for anyone!
The Gorillatorch works indoors and outdoors! Chicago, as well as the Midwest is experiencing supposedly the worst blizzard in a decade! So it isn’t ideal for me to run out and take pictures right now! Lol
(I forgot exactly how much I paid for the blue, I believe it was around $20. Amazon currently has all colors for around $30).
