Christmas was a month ago, but it feels as if it has been a few months since it has come and gone (to me anyways).
This Christmas, I received one of the best gifts of all time, which was a travel humidifier from my sister. I’ve always gotten nosebleeds easily ever since I was little from dryness, especially from indoor heat. This is one of many reasons why I hate any kind of heat. It has gotten a lot better over the years, where I only get them once every other month on average nowadays, usually when the seasons change. But when it comes, it bloody pours! I also have a very sensitive vein in my left nostril, where if I touch or hit it sometimes, it starts bleeding as well.
A travel humidifier is something I should have gotten for work ages ago, but I’m not sure why idiotic me never have. My sister purchased this Air-O-Swiss AOS 7146 Ultrasonic Humidifier from Bed Bath & Beyond. If I remember correctly, she told me it was around $40 after the 20% off coupon. She was surprised I haven’t gotten one for myself either, considering I go to BBB more often than she does.
With the AOS 7146, the fast ultrasonic technology of this handy humidifier uses high-frequency vibrations to generate a micro-fine cool mist. With the easy to read and turn knob from “MIN” to “MAX,” I can adjust and control the humidity to my comfort. This little device is very quiet, so no worries of loud noise. I can only hear a very soft airy, misty sound when it’s on, and I actually wouldn’t mind if it could be louder, since I love water noises. It’s so soothing. On a second thought, that could put me to sleep at work.
Aside from the fine Swiss quality, this travel humidifier requires a water bottle for it to operate. It fits most standard size water bottles, such as Dasani, Smart Water, or Ice Mountain. I usually don’t buy bottled water, but luckily for me, I already had an empty Smart Water bottle from a while ago (not pictured), and I am currently using that since their bottles are bigger than most other brands. This humidifier has a humidity output of 1 gallon per day, and one Smart Water size bottle usually lasts me for majority of the typical work day, which is 7-8 hours. I usually have it on 'MAX' though, and I also turn it off for half an hour or so at least once daily when I leave the building.
This device comes with European plugs, which I didn’t notice at first when testing it out at home, and thought something was wrong with it. Other accessories this device comes with are a mini brush for cleaning, and a very useful travel bag.
The advanced air treatment system offers clean and healthy air, may you be at work, in a hotel, or in your bedroom. This is a great alternative if you don’t want the big, bulky humidifiers in small(er) rooms. I think the technology and the design are both equally awesome. It's very lightweight and compact, making it very convenient to bring anywhere in its little pouch.
I was beyond happy when I opened this present on Christmas. I felt like a kid in a candy store. I laugh and tell myself I’m really getting old if I get that excited on receiving a humidifier as a gift. But, I’ve always not only loved giving, but very much appreciated in receiving thoughtful and useful gifts. I’m also a fan of Swiss made products, and I have an auto Swiss watch I wear often.
MODERATORS: After being so indecisive, I decided this fits a little more under Tech. Let me know if I should change it.
Do you get dry easily? If you have actual winters where you live, do you use a humidifier? Do you like and/or own any Swiss made products?

this is cool, it's nice that they made travel humidifiers
This is so awesome! I didn't know they made something like this.
Thank you everyone!!! I really hope this post was useful and helpful to you guys.
May Tii Ly: Glad to know I'm not alone on here.. do you get them often??
Lyndsay H.: I cannot stand natural outdoor heat either, because that is something beyond our control. But when it comes to health, indoor heating is worse from research, docs, and first hand experience.. even though it doesn't feel as bad as outdoor heat though. But seriously, if it's cold you can always layer.. but as for the summer time, even if you strip down naked, I'm still sweating my balls off and my face looks like a tomato!
wow, I may need to get this too. I too get nosebleeds and it sucks. I like the fact that it is portable and you can simply use a water bottle.
crispy ☮: I know my answer.. I hate the summer heat. I don't like getting dried up from the indoor winter heaters, but... I LOATHE the outdoor ACTUAL heat. At least I can control my indoor heat a bit.. I don't have that option in the summer.. and I cannot stand melting the moment I walk outside >:-|
mylittlecasey *: You got it! It looks so cool hahaha
Michelle Mai Huynh♡: haha yeah.. love the water bottle concept.
crispy ☮: Yeah, more like a humidifier zoo! lol I haven't seen the elephant yet but what a cool concept. The air must come out from its trunk right?
This looks super compact and easy to use. So cool how you can put a water bottle in it to fill it up =]
Alicia ☺: lol the handy size of this one is def much more convenient and does not take up alot of room at all.
Cecilia Chiu: It doesn't hurt if you use it, but if you don't get dry easily, that is a good thing though.
I used to have a huge humidifier for my room for when I had a cold...this one looks and sounds a LOT better, for sure!
this looks amazing! i have a humidifier but i never use it :[. i didn't know they had ones where you use water bottles
Paulo Leite: I've heard of the dehumidifier, but don't know many here that uses it, mostly because our only body water is Lake Michigan haha.. we have really harsh winters, so humidifiers are must here. What kind of Swiss watch do you have?
Ashley Renea: Those are pretty random items! But it's definitely always the thought that counts. I use to love shopping for calendars, esp dog or funny ones. I'm curious to see what your dragon purse looks like haha heeey it's the year of the Dragon in the Chinese calendar. Bust it out! haha
Alissa Marie: haha it is a little fancy, isn't it?
I think that this is the first time that I see a humidifier so small... and I don't use a humidifier. Actually, at my house we have to use a dehumidifier, since a great part of the year around here is really wet.
I really like to receive useful gifts... Things that make you think "Oh, I really needed this" are the best. and I have a Swiss watch too.
I would be excited to get this as a gift as well! That was really thoughtful of your sister to get this for you..especially since its something you needed-my sister got me random stuff for christmas like always, you know..kitty cat calender, big bulky grandma jewelry, a purse with a huge dragon and fairy etc..things ill probably never use (except for the calender!) but its always the thought that counts like you said. Plus, its kind of funny to see the random stuff she gets me every year LOL
fancy humidifier!!! Its really cool looking though!
Brooklyn Mak: I"m sorry! I promise, I won't let it happen again! WAH
Bruno Silva: hahah does seeing this make you want to buy one? It certainly doesn't hurt having one around... not only does it moisturize but helps with air as well for better breathing.
mylittlecasey *: I think I've seen the pig and frog as well. I also want the elephant one. I sound as if I want to start a humidifier collection LOL...
crispy ☮: Who told you i sleep in time square? o_O Don't give out my home address on the internet!
I have never used or owned a humidifier but i my nose/skin don't get dry easily, at least until now lol that seems to be a good product, i don't have any product from that brand but seems good and reliable. Also, the fact that is portable is even better.
crispy ☮: I think I've seen the penguin humidifier at my drugstore. They also had a pig and a frog one too! lol I don't really need one now but if I had to get one, I would go with the pig because it's pink haha! Oink Oink!
Bklyn Queen: You're still a young lad! I love receiving useful items.. I am still so happy about this. My co-workers get a kick out of this thing when they see it haha. I've always done what I was suppose to do to slow down my nosebleeds and even several doctors have told me the same thing.. that it just happens alot during the transitions of seasons.. but with lots of water, nasal spray, and humidifier, it does help it tone them down. I just hate it when I get it during certain times or places. Once, I got it during my bus ride to work lol.. good thing that one was not heavy at all, and I was able to hold it till I got to work.
♡A. Leungツ: I would have paid $50 for it, because it's a necessity. Even if you don't feel you get dry, it's still something to consider in the winter time. You will feel the difference in the air around you.
I would be excited too! But heck I am old! Lol. thats a pretty nifty humidifier. I've never seen one like this. Its certainly a great gift, and one that you know you will get plenty use of. I hope your nosebleeds get better.
I might want to look into this since my room itself is small and not too big. I always wanted a humidifier but the fact of them being so huge I never wanted it in my room to waste space. This is such a great alternative and it isn't overly expensive too.
mylittlecasey *: I also have a penguin one, which I forget b/c I don't know where the heck I put it. haha..and that one is standard (big) size. I love the blue light as well.... it's noticeable during daytime, but these pics don't them as well.
Lilly M: I close the vent in my room too, and I think that helps somewhat.. but it's really dry at my work where my throat gets dry.. when that first started happening, I thought it was a sore throat and I was getting sick.. but after I chug some water and after I got home.. it went away.
Brooklyn Mak: Unless your bedroom is the size of Times Square, then this size should work.
Janz Gonz: If you don't need one, you are better off.
This is seriously a very cool gift! I used to get nosebleeds to as a kid and my mom ended up getting a humidifier for my room and they eventually went away. Mine was not as cool as yours and it was definitely not portable. I love the fact that it lights up in the dark and that you can use a regular water bottle. That is very smart!
Haha you know what my man actually bought this last week to bring up north with him to work. What a coincidence that you have the same one. I block the heat vent so I don't get dry lol. Otherwise my nose and the skin of my face gets all dry and flaky it is gross. I don't tolerate dry air very well. I don't use a humidifier though.
It so small though can it really work for a a room the size of a bedroom?
I've never tried an humidifier but this looks so awesome to use!
Lyndsay H.: That's good. Alot of houses can have built in humidifiers installed too along with central heating/cooling, but I guess seeing the actual humidifier is more comforting. I hate indoor heat.. don't know if I hate that more or summer heat. I drink water and fluids religiously.
Jessica A♥: I've heard of them, but never checked them out myself. I know alot of parents used humidifiers for their babies. I think that's important as well.
this is awesome! I don't think anything of you getting excited to receive this... heck, I'm extremely excited to learn they make travel ones! Humidifiers are a must in our house. How handy to have a travel one for work. To be honest, I think there are many times when we have been on the road for long periods and the heater in the car has dried us out (especially if anyone has a cold and is coughing or anything like that) and something like this would have been nice.
I didnt know they made travel humidifiers that's neat I never used one for myself but I did use one for my daughter when she was a baby.
That's cool.
