It's a new year and I bet on everyone's new years resolution it's to try to get fit, eat healthier but really.. how many of us are really accomplishing that? And if you are, congrats but me... ehh kind of lazy and it's only the 20th day of the new year!
There's a new application called Gym Pact that actually fines you if you don't go to the gym so that is a way to motivate some people to go the gym because who would want to drop $5 into waste for not going to the gym that day/week/month? Imagine not going a week that is already $35 down the drain! With $35 you can buy some shoes, jeans, shirt!
But... if you do go the gym guess what? You are getting incentives for going to the gym. So those who didn't go to the gym get deducted $5 and if you do go to the gym, you'll get a portion of the money from those who aren't going to the gym = win win situation! You don't get $5 but you get anywhere from 50 cents to $1 which isn't bad for doing something you're already supposed to be doing = going to the gym! But what if everyone's going to the gym then.. the application might go into bankruptcy, lol.
What do you think of this system? Would you use Gym Pact? It does sound like a very good application but if I was to cough up $5 for every time I missed the gym when I'm supposed to go.. I would be freaking broke!
Information:
● If you want to know more about this application visit the article link below.
● This application is available for iPhone users [since now smart phones are high tech your phone and the app will track your location so you can't cheat the system and earn extra bucks] Soon the app will be available for Android & HTML5 users but not yet.

This seems like a great app for motivation but i don't think its for me lol
I think the concept of fining people isn't too bad since some people really doesn't have that motivation sometimes.
sounds interesting! i would not want to go to the gym everyday, but it does seem like a nice incentive to go. though i think it would be better to do it with points or something besides money. :D
That's cool!
What a cool concept! I dont think id do it though beings that id be too afriad that id miss out on the gym too much and lose money-wouldnt wanna take the risk lol but i do love the idea, especially if you're trying to committ yourself to working out.
mylittlecasey *: yeah i would hate to hear this is a scam
I saw this mentioned on the news a few months ago. Don't know if it was the same app but the motivation factor will certainly get people moving. I hope it's legit though and not some sort of scam.
May Tii Ly: its a motivation for some =P
Anthony Tran: yeah we are Let's get rolling! =)
Sparkle Rain: that would be a great idea =] i like it!
Mrs. NBGD: The app & back as an incentive if you do go to the gym
Brooklyn Mak: you're not alone me too! =P
Emma Dahlquist: same but even if I did I don't think I can make the long commitment =P
that sounds good but I don't like to commit to things that involves money.
Oh boy we're like how many days/months/years behind from the gym? ha-ha
Eva ★: You set the days you're going to go and then you have to accomplish them.
Lilly M: Yay Lilly too bad we can't say we gymmed at home =P
Cecilia Chiu: Totally agree with you. Me too lol.
Vivian Huang: I am too and would be more broke if I tried this out.
Lauren L: You can't cause it has a gps tracker so it'll know if you're at the gym or not. If it was that easy people would probably cheat the system already & it would defeat the purpose.
Kris Huynh: Same here, I would probably be in debt.
I was thinking of putting that $5 in the piggy bank everytime I missed the gym and that $$ can go into the emergency fund(meaning can't be touched) instead of giving it away the $$ if I when I do missed a day. :)
Who does the money go to?
i've missed more than a day. I think i owe about 5 years. lol
if i had the money...
that is a good idea
liked it
It's a fun concept, but I would never want to lose $5 every time I don't go. Sometimes you just don't have the time. :)
Cool application
cool
I'd be pretty well off then lol. I've been working out 4-5 times a week but that's from home lol. I can't be bothered to go to a gym. I just like powering through work outs and then showering and relaxing at home.
yah i would never join this gym or any gym that implements that. i'm going to be in soooo much debt from not going to the gym lol
lmao i'd love to try that but i am too broke for that!
Hmm sounds like an easy way for the company to make money but an interesting idea. Wouldn't people just say they went to the gym even if they didn't in order not to pay?
Not financially stable for this! :P
Shannon ツ: Yeah I wouldn't trust my credit card with this app too.
Sounds like a cool app, but not sure how authenticated it could be. I mean, I wouldn't give some random app my credit card information. But then again ... some might, so who knows.
