As a Mets fan I'm so unbelievably happy tonight. The Mets finally have a pitcher who pitched a NO HITTER tonight. Johan Santana their best pitcher did the deed tonight. What a no hitter is, is that the other team does not get on base via hits. Johan did walk 5 batters, but none scored as it was a shut out 8-0!
A No Hitter is quite rare in baseball. With maybe one or two a year. Til tonight I believe there were only two teams that has not had a no hitter in its team history and that included the New York Mets.
Props to you Johan for having a gem of a game. Let's keep it up! =)
