"Jeremy Lin is a good player," Mayweather tweeted Monday, "but all the hype is because he's Asian. Black players do what he does every night and don't get the same praise."
Thank you Eric Adelson the writer of the article below for telling Floyd to shut his mouth. Eric is right on every point.
Lin was just a month removed from the Developmental League (minor leagues), he outplayed Kobe Bryant, he's leading the team to a 5 game winning streak. He's averaging 28 points and 8 assist a game in his first 5 full games as a starter. No other player whether white, black or Asian can claim that.
The Knicks before they started to play Lin was 1 win and 9 losses in the last 10 games even with Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudamire. So excuse us for being a little over excited over this Harvard graduate that is re-energizing the basketball town of New York with life and capturing the imaginations of people around the world. It can't alway be about you Floyd. So shut up!
Talk the TALK
1) Do you think Mayweather will ever face Pacquiao?
2) Do you think Linsanity is over hyped?

I think Lin deserves what he gets, I mean he did do very well on his first few games and so on.
thanks for sharing.
Todd the dork: His parents are from Taiwanese, though he was born and raised in the States. So no, he is not "chinese".
I think that he has a story people love, it's not just that he's playing well, it's also because he was dropped from two teams before he played for the Knicks. He went to Harvard and he acknowledges his team mates when he talks about games and so he seems like an all around "great" guy.
Really? Shut Up Is Right
he is way to cocky!
dang, why ppl always gotta talk sh!t??? haters
I don't know anything about basketball but that comment was very rude and so uncalled for. I think mayweather is mad because someone more deserving is getting attention.
Brooklyn Mak: That was my past. Don't want to talk about that anymore.
nice! true that! asian power! lol
I don't watch basketball, it's not that popular where I live, so I've never heard of either of them. Anyway, that's just so rude and racist, what a moron.
I don't follow basketball or the players but that tweet was just racist and unnecessary! It seems he is jealous that Jeremy Lin is getting some attention ( i have seen posts on him here on LUUUX )
Mayweather is too scared to fight Pacquiao. All he can do is talk the talk to stay in the limelight. Is linsanity overhyped just a little but I like that it is. Asian people deserve the limelight. Agree with the article there isn't enough asian people in the pop culture that are outspoken in the sense that there aren't very many famous asians in general in the US.
& YES! Linsanity is overhyped. Total bandwagon.
I really dislike Mayweather just cause he's all talk but no action. I can't wait for Manny to kick his behind!!
Brooklyn Mak: The is true it is time for new players to get the spotlight =)
Mayweather will never fight Paquiao. It would be like setting himself up for a loss or better yet a TKO. Linsanity maybe over hyped but he deserves the attention. So way to go Lin!
MH Chow: he should retire if he's not willing to face Pacq
Yaz G: lol. Don't use a marker and marked out his face on your monitor ok?!
Todd the dork: rude. Never heard of Yao Ming?
Eileen Hoang: what's your BF's email? or ex bf now. lol
Connie C: exactly. And not against people that are weak against him
crispy ☮: That's not what I saw on that Youtube video...
mylittlecasey *: He must not have a lot of "real" friends.
Who is Pacquiao?
Trinity Lane: ha ha me too!
Cathy Bui: Yeah coming from Kobe it means a lot. But Kobe's game is peak and will start to decline now. more and more younger guys will start to outplay him.
I don't watch basketball at all lol. If he's good he's good go Jeremy Lin lol.
Steph Yen: A blow hard. lol
A A: Yeah he talks a lot of trash all the time.
Ana Claro: He is a good player. =)
Dunia Jabouri: What the heck comment is that?
M T: me too. i hope to see him live at a KNicks game before the season is over.
MACaddict25 ♥: No problem comment spammer you.
Mica G.: i agree! I think Mayweather is ducking behind his fat mouth.
Lin Geng: Me too. He's gonna be at least an NBA starter for a long time now. Even if not an All Star.
s <3: Me too so Pac can kick his butt.
Lin is incredible. Mayweather should stick to his own sport.
Ew Mayweather makes me sick! Cocky a**! Ugh. Im leaving your post now because I dont like seeing his face. Lol. Ok maybe not that intense, but really he's so full of himself ugh!
Chinese people play basketball???
He's not bad looking, but don't tell my bf that lol. I don't watch basketball, but it's nice to see more asians on sports teams.
he's need to shut his mouth and focus on boxing.
Brooklyn Mak: nah.. I'm weak.. I don't know how to beat anyone up. I vote for Trinny.
There always has to be one person who bursts everyone's bubble. Why can't people just acknowledge talent when they see it? He's not showing good sportsmanship.
I've seen this guy be a dick on many occasions. I'd pay good money to see Crispy beat his d.bag ass!
Mayweather will never fight Paquito.. lol.. i would love to see that fight.. just as much as everyone else does.. but i honestly dont think it will happen.. at least not anytime soon.. there were so many opportunities for them to have set one up already. And for his comment about Lin.. I think he is culturally ignorant... that was an unnecessary comment. I think he purposely says stuff like this to stay in the spotlight. However, i do agree partially that it is hyped because he is asian.. but the boy knows how to play. He is really good.. and has made it so far in such little time.. who wouldnt be proud of that. Lin is doing his thing and working it right. Even after the laker game Kobe gave him props and that is saying a lot.
crispy ☮: You can even beat his butt.
i've heard of Lin but not of Mayweather. Who's this big mouth?
Why can't he let others be happy about Lin? He needs to shut up!
Lin is a very good player
oh their cute
