Sport & Fitness » Drink Up Your Water....HERES WHY!

You are at the gym going what seems 100 mph in your usual spin class..You nearly are out of breath from sprinting that you really need something refreshing.....Everyone in class around you is reaching for their liter bottle of water, and you realize that you forgot your cute little PINK water bottle full of ice cold refreshing water........

Sometimes it seems as if the choice between a nice refreshing drink is a hard one....Should you go for the drink with absolultely no calories, or the drink with tons of calories, sugar and fat......It really is a no brainer, but there are times when we are just craving those calories, why who knows.....Its a no brainer that water is the best choice, no calories, refreshing, and hydrating......

Not only is water refreshing, costs nothing, and is healthy, there are also a ton of other perks that give us even more reasons as to why we must drink it...

Water is what keeps our bodies going!...

So fill up your water bottle to the tippy top, throw in a ton of ice, and start drinking that water!!.....

Here are the top five reasons to ditch the soda, and quench your thirst with water:

1. Having a stressful day?....Sipping water on a stressful day can really smooth out your stress........Say goodbye to those stress-induced symptoms like a headaches, tense muscles, fuzzy thinking, a pounding heart, and low energy......When you are stressed and dehydrated, your body reacts in those way and the effects are magnified.......

More than half of our body weight is water....So just a 2% reduction of hydration can have a big impact of your energy levels and how your brain functions.......When you are dehydrated it raises your stress level.....Water will not completely get rid of your stress, but it will help you get rid of symptoms, easy your tension, reduce strain in your heart, and slow down your breathing....

Tip: Here is a great tip which I do! I fill up a liter of water a day, drink it all during the day at work......I keep the filled up water bottle at my desk, so there is no excuse not to drink it......I make sure before 8:00 at night, I finish the bottle.....Eight glasses a day, by 8:00 is the magic number to drink.......When I go to the gym, I have another liter of water (if not more somethings)....Its a great way to clench your thirst, keep you from eating more, and keep you peeing so you are releasing all those toxins......

2. Drink two glasses of water right before you eat.......It has been said that if you drink two 8 ounce glasses of water before your meals, you will loose almost 4 pounds more weight loss in 12 weeks......Water is filling...Therefore if you drink it before you eat, you are tricking your body into thinking that you are somewhat full.....Tricking your body means that you will eat less food!......... Those who drink water before meals consume an average of 75 fewer calories per meal....(Yes! for saving those calories)......... ...If you make that twice a day over a year, and that could add up to 14 pounds!.......

Better yet, when our body is well hydrating, it is working to our maximum efficiency......Which means this enhances us loosing weight, digestion and muscle function when you exercise!!.....

Tip: Water can get a little boring to drink...So try flavoring it in a pitcher...Try putting fruit in it: lemons, oranges, watermelon, berries all are perfect........Or put in an herbal tea green tea bag, it will help the taste and help your metabolism going! Lemon is a great way to help your metabolism too.....

3. Being hydrated will keep your muscles in tip top working order.......Best for working out, keeping healthy (not getting sick), and great to drink when you are traveling......

Tip: Just drink water at all times to keep yourself healthy, especially when flying....Take an empty bottle with you that you can refill!

4. Hot or cold water?: It does not make a difference if the water you are sipping on is hot or cold.......If you drink it will keep you warmer on a cold day, and cold on a warm day.....

When you are hydrated your internal thermostat works better when you're well hydrated.... Water will regular your body temperature....

Regardless of if it is hot or cold, we need water...We tend to drink less water in the winter because its so cold, but keep drinking in the winter, it will benefit you!!!...

Tip: Instead of drinking soda, hot chocolate, tea or coffee swap it with water.....Carry a bottle around with you all day as a reminder that you must drink it....... Sip more when you're physically active, whether in water, snow, or any weather condition.

5. It will keep your blood pressure down...Not drinking water will make your blood pressure go up....That's because dehydration causes blood vessels to constrict as the body strives to conserve water that it loses through perspiration, urination, and breathing. When blood vessels constrict, however, the heart pumps harder, bringing blood pressure up.)

Tip:Start your day with drinking a glass or water...It will energize you and give you that boost you need....And keep you from being dehydrated.....At night keep a filled glass or bottle on your nightstand or an empty one next to the bathroom sink...You will be more likely to drink it..

I drink a lot of water every day. I try to drink a glass before every meal as well. I tend to drink a lot more tea than actual water though I need the caffeine to keep me stimulated during my 30 min commute to work and during my 8-10 hour work days haha. I don't know how many glasses I drink though as I don't keep track.

These are great tips and I love how I was just trying to find out if I drink enough water LOL I found that you are supposed to drink about half your body weight in ounces of water and I'm doing great. On a good day, I drink about 3, 17 ounce bottles of water a day

I try to drink at least 2 liters of water a day. It's hard, because most of the time I'm not really thirsty, but it makes me eat less and it's just good for me. :)
