You probably already know this but you can burn some serious calories shaking that RUMP. But different dances varies in intensity so some dances burn more than others. How many fat club goers do you see? Okay maybe quite a few. lol But a person that goes every night (wow, some life!) will burn more calories than most people at a gym.
There's this great site that will even help you find the dance for you and calculate how much you can lose!
It's funny that they put the disclaimer that it's NOT FOR USE BY PREGNANT WOMEN. Pregnant women do dance. but I guess they don't want any liabilities.
