If you've been reading my posts, then you should know by now that I'm a huge sports fan. I love to watch sports, but actually, the only sport I play is boxing! A big part of boxing fitness is jumping rope, and it also helped me lose weight when I was overweight!

Benefits of Losing Weight!
1. Calorie Burn Jumping rope at a moderate pace burns approximately 300 calories per 30 minutes. (This will vary for different people, but this is an approximate amount.) Use jumping rope at a HIIT workout and it'll burn even more. (I'll talk about this later.)

2. Muscle definition and tone Jumping rope gives you a serious leg and lower body workout. If you buy a weighted jumprope, you'll be giving your arms a slight workout too!

3. Cardiovascular Fitness Jumping rope for a prolonged period of time will boost your heart and lung effectivity. Not only will you have more energy throughout the day when walking, but you'll also be able to endure a longer workout!

You can either jumprope at a steady pace for 30 minutes, or you can really pump it up by using jumping rope as an high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout. From Wiki, HIIT is a form of cardiovascular exercise which is beneficial to burning fat in a short and intense workout. Usual HIIT sessions may vary from 9–20 minutes. If you were using running as an HIIT, then you'd run at a moderate pace for two minutes, then sprint as fast as you can for thirty seconds, repeat for 10-15 minutes. TIP! If you can't jumprope well for more than a few skips, then fake it! Studies have shown that mimicking the movements of a jump-roping (yes, hands in the air and everything) has almost the same benefits!
