Places » Free Museums and Now Free National Parks!

I love Nature... as long as it doesn't bite me. LOL. So I love visiting places like National Parks. I love hiking on trails and just enjoying nature. But I'm not a fan of camping. I rather enjoy the night at a Marriott Hotel. =)

I had posted last night about FREE Museums if you are a Bank of America card holder. This FREE National Parks doesn't require the evil bank but is open to EVERYONE. Unfortunately, unlike Free Museums that is one weekend a month, the Free National Parks happens only 5 times a year with the next one coming up on June 9th. Make sure you mark your calendar!

Admission to a lot of National Parks are actually free, but there are also a lot that costs money. Take Yosemite National Park pictured above. It costs $20/car to go.

I hope to visit Yosemite one day (and go for free!) =)

Talk the TALK
1) Do you have any National Parks near you? Do you go often?
2) Do prefer camping in a tent or at a Marriott Hotel?

I don't think NO have Nationals Park. Not that I know of. Lol I've been wanting to experience camping, but bugs, bears, deer etc. no thank you. Plus I rather stay in a cabin than a tent. The Mariott sounds even better.

Once again...thanks for the info! We have Pinnacles near me, haven't been there in a long time. I remember going there on a field trip and went down into some caves, so cool!

The closest national parks are 4-5 hours away by car here. I am not into camping. It's cold, there are bugs and wild animals so no thanks. Plus I like to feel clean and park washrooms are just nasty.

I think it is really great that 5 times a year you can get to go free. But I wouldn't mind paying $20 to visit Yosemite National Park because it looks amazing. And I would chose the Marriott as well...not sure I could survive camping lol

I wish National Parks were free all the time. I've been camping in a tent many times and it's a fun experience.

I would prefer Mariott Hotel as they are a preferred hotel chain and I'd get a corporate price haha. Plus we got wild animals here they will attack you and maul you to death. National Parks are only free on Canada Day here and you don't want to go then since hotels around them charge way more during long weekends and holidays.
