Entertainment » Lady Gaga reveals she suffered from bulimia as a teen

Lady Gaga has recently said in an interview how she suffered with bulimia in high school hoping to get a 'skinny ballerina body.'

In the interview Lady Gaga talked she spent most of her time in High School throwing up because she was unhappy with her voluptuous shape. Even now as a superstar, she admitted weight is still a struggle for her. Apparently, Lady Gaga was bullied through high school on her body and the reason she stopped this destructive behavior was because of music. She knew that if she kept throwing up, it would damage her vocal chords and she wouldn't sound as good.

What I read the news, I was shocked. I mean I had suspicions about her having issues with weight, but I never knew that it went back through high school with her. I have much more respect for Gaga now after this interview. She seems much more relatable now to me since I know I've struggled with body image for a while through years of high school (I mean what girl doesn't?)
She recently spoke out at a conference for women in L.A. about this topic which I think is amazing. I hope she continues to talk about this and help other girls out because this is a topic that needs to be addressed. Eating disorders are a serious thing and the key to beating them is to prevent them from happening in the first place!

What do you guys think of this story?
Has your feelings towards Gaga changed after reading this?
Do you believe this is something that needs to be talked about more in our society?

I love reading/watching interviews with Lady Gaga because even though she's this big pop star, she still acts like a normal person. She talks openly about things and she's finds the bright side of dark situations. I may not be a super huge fan of her music, but I think she's an amazing person!

My goodness! I though she was thin and had that gorgeous body always... I guess she didn't. I hope that nowadays she is not anorexic or something like that, and that the body she have right now would be because she do lots of exercise (looks like that, looks those abs)... Good for her that she talked up, and that she would help some other girls strugling with their bodies and weight
