Pictures are mine.
I remember a few years ago, L'Oreal was the only drugstore brand that sold cream/gel eyeliners. You know, when the only competition was MAC's Fluidline and L'Oreal's. Since then, even Wet 'n' Wild has come out with their own cream eyeliner. I think this trio from Physicians Formula is honestly the best thing that's ever happened to eyeliner. It offers variety and versatility; you get three different eyeliners, which you can use as cream eyeshadows or eyeshadow bases.
Picture 2: I was least expectant of the brown. Brown eyeliners make my eyes look red, so I never buy it, but here it is.
Picture 3: I thought I'd never wear the purple, because honestly, it's kind of bright.
Picture 4: The black is a really dark, pool-of-ink kind of black. It also seems like it contains the most product, compared to the other two. It forms a dome on top, whereas the other two dip into a valley.
It comes with a little paddle-shaped eyeliner brush. I think it's just okay. It's kind of flimsy, so I prefer using my stiffer ELF $1 concealer brush.
Pictures 5 & 6: Ignore how dry the swatches look. The eyeliners dried out between layers, so swatching more on top with my fingers made them look kind of cakey.
They have this wet, gel consistency if you use a brush. I recommend applying in layers, because before they dry, it just feels like you're pushing the product around; you get bare spots where you apply more pressure.
In the light, you can see varying shades of purple shimmer in all three shades. The brown has a bit of a green undertone, which unfortunately makes it look like crap. The purple is more like an aubergine. The black is still as dark as it was, except you can see the obvious purple shimmer.
My favorite out of the trio has to be the purple. I dab a little bit of it along my upper lashline. It makes my eyes look much more defined, without looking like I'm obviously wearing eyeliner. In fact, you can't even tell I have eyeliner on unless you're inches away from my face. It's not as bright as some purple eyeliners go, so it's not too flashy or dramatic.
The lasting power on these are amazing. I wore the purple one for an entire day, and even had trouble removing it that night. Even when I thought it was all gone, there were half crescent smudges under my eyes the next morning. I had to rub and scrub at the swatches on my arm with makeup remover wipes for a while before they were all gone. Usually, I'd think of longevity as a good thing, but in this case, it's a complete overkill.
I got this from Wal-Mart for a little under $10. I think it's a great deal, because you get three different shades, even if each pot is fun sized. I've never used up an entire thing of gel eyeliner before it dried up anyway, so it doesn't bother me.
