This image has been released by Apple, inviting journalists to an event which most people are speculating to be the official announcement of the iPad 2.
And from the looks of the graphics in the picture, I think I can see why.
There's still nothing official from Apple on their site yet, but I bet on the 2nd March you'll be able to pre-order the iPad 2.
And if that's the case, I'll be
ordering one!

Portal 2 is due out this April. If you've never heard of Portal I'll explain.
Portal is part of one of the biggest gaming franchises of all time, the Half Life franchise which is developed by Valve.
Portal was a sort of spin off game that became popular amongst gamers and non-gamers alike. It doesn't rely on quick reactions and fighting to finish it, it's a 3d puzzle solving game, and I
don't just mean 3d graphics, you have to think in 3 dimensions. You utilize a Portal gun to create shortcuts across "test chambers" to avoid deadly traps and reach the end of the test program. The process is overseen by a witty and insane super computer.
Portal 2 is the highly anticipated sequel, which will focus heavily on co-operative play, so you'll have to solve much harder and more complex puzzles between you and your team mate.
It's a really good game, it's popular with lots of people who don't usually play computer games, and even if you don't play it, it's entertaining enough listening to the insane and comical chatter from the super computer that is testing you!
BUY PORTAL 2! It's for your own good.

A little over 15 years after the Duke Nukem 3d, the man himself is finally returning to the world of gaming.
This sequel has been 12 years in the making! 12 years! Many have speculated as to whether or not the game will actually be completed, and even those that have faith in it being released still doubt that it will live up to expectations!
But I have faith, the Duke Nukem franchise
allows for quite a lot of creative freedom, so I'm sure the developers will have pushed the boundaries as far as possible.
Images and video are from 3drealms.com
You can pre-order the game now from various game retailers.

Panda Drinks are discontinuing Panda Pops!
I don't know how worldwide these drinks get, but they were in school canteens and camp site tuck shops all across England! They were a staple parts of my childhood diet, and admittedly I've not had one in about 10 years but it still makes me sad that they're disappearing!
Like most companies in the world they seem to be getting healthier and more
environmentally friendly, so they're ditching they're fizzy pop just to focus on Panda Juice drinks.
Pop* ball will never be again
*Pop ball: Rugby played in a school playground, using a Panda Pop bottle instead of a Rugby ball.

I've never been quite so overcome with a compulsion to arrange and stack cubes, as I am today.
I happened to come across Minecraft due to a popular web comic making a joke towards it's addictive and seemingly tedious gameplay. To better understand the joke I looked the game up, and decided it looked ridiculous and couldn't be fun at all. Yet thousands of people were playing it and despite it
still being in Beta?
There was only one thing for it, I had to play it to prove myself right, or wrong.
And I was wrong. It is incredibly fun. I was wrong to doubt it, and I was wrong to play it.
The game goes far beyond building structures and landscapes with crudly textured cubes (which is itself quite addictive). There is a 20 minute day/night cycle, 10 minutes of light so you can harvest food, expand your home and gather resources... And 10 minutes of darkness to shelter in fear in the safety of your warmly lit cave/castle/mansion from the evils that creep in the dark of night.
You might start off with blocks of wood and stone, but these can be crafted into tools so you can work more quickly and defend yourself if something creeps into your home. You can build boats, doors, glass and bookshelves to improve your lifestyle and abode.
The game offers you limitless possibilities, yet somehow manages to keep the game simple enough so as not to overburden you with responsibilities. It is the perfect union of simplicity and complexity.
The best way to describe this game is a cross between Tetris and Second Life, with your favourite RPG elements thrown in.
The game is still in development but the developers will let you have it at a knock down price while it's in Beta, with a promise of the full version for free to all that purchase now.
You can download a Windows .exe, a .jar for Linux and it's also available on Mac. But best of all you can just play it in a web browser window!
I love this game, I love the charming and simple graphics, that mask the clever and interesting gameplay.
The only reason I'm not giving it full marks, is so I can give the final release more when it's out.
I can't see myself doing much else in the coming weeks, maybe months. And God help me when it's finally released in full.
My heart is lost to a world of corners, with little love left for Earths round edges.
And that is why, I was wrong to play Minecraft.

Nintendo give you 500 wii points if you help someone connect to the internet. To prove you’ve helped them, you swap “Wii numbers” – this is like the Wii’s own telephone number.
Once you’ve added your friend’s wii number to your console, and your friend adds your number to theirs, you automatically get an extra 500 points added to you Wii shop channel balance!
If you get 20
people to do it, you get all the Nintendo Virtual console games for free… plus you’ll have about 10,000 points by then!
Even by 10 swapped numbers you get all the NES games for free!
You do have to exchange Wii numbers within 30 days of connecting to the internet though, so everyone who’s already connected can “help” others connect, but can’t be “helped” themselves.
Wii20.co.uk has been set up so you can find these Wii numbers to exchange with other Wii owners.

The next land speed record car is currently being designed and constructed in Bristol, UK. The Bloodhound SSC is set to supersede the Thrust SSC, and is targeted to break 1000mph! That's 1.4 mach, or 1.4 times the speed of sound! And it will be piloted by a human driver! Can you imagine driving at 1000mph!
The test runs will be held on salt flats in America, and the car will be powered by a
Eurofighter Typhoon Eurojet and a Falcon Rocket, which will themselves be supported by a V12 800bhp Racing Engine!

At a human library you actually check out a person, not a book, and for 30 minutes you can have a chat with them and find out about the living book you've checked out.
They idea is to aid people in overcoming any prejudices or misunderstandings you might have on a variety of topics, such as religion, disfigurement and transgenderism
There are many human libraries, a list of them can be
found at human-library.org.
Radio 4 did a good article exploring the concept of the human library, it can be heard at the Radio 4 website - http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00r9yd8

Nintendo have launched a campaign to encourage Wii users to sign up to their internet shopping channel.
Once signed up to the Wii shopping channel you've got 30 days to pass your Wii number (kind of like the Wii's personal phone number) onto the person who helped you set up.
Once they have your number they type it into their Wii, also through the shopping channel, and then they send you
their number back and you do the same.
You then both get 500 Wii points to spend in the store!
If you help 10 people sign up you get all the NES games for free,
If you help 20 people sign up you get all the NES, SNES and N64 games for free!
Just remember, once someone is signed up they only have 30 days to register the person who helped them?
If this post is a little confusing read the attached link for more details.

Google have tonnes of useful stuff in their Labs section, which you can get to from the Settings area in Gmail.
My favourite new discovery is Mouse Gestures for Gmail, you Right click and move the mouse left and right to go forward and backwards through your email. I find it really useful espcially as Gmail's "Newer" and "Older" links are too small
