The Mammoth Hot Springs are located near the northern entrance of Yellowstone National Park. The water that feeds the hot springs comes from the Norris Geyser Basin after traveling under a fault line. These hot springs have a unique feature caleld terraces, which are geologic formations that have come about from the heat, flowing water and limestone. Terrace Mountain at the Mammoth Hot Springs is
known as the largest carbonate depositing hot spring in the world. Since it does lie on a fault line, earthquake activity has shifted the vent for the spring and caused some of the springs tto be dry. The carbonate kind of looks like snow to me in some pictures. I don't know if some of you remember back to biology classes of high school and university that the groups of bacteria that live in extreme conditions like extreme heat are called thermophiles and create a lovely assortment of colors like the yellow and oranges. Ooo science word haha j/j.
Have you ever gotten the opportunity to visit Mammoth Hot Springs?
Did you learn about extremophiles and thermophiles back in school if you remember?
Do the carbonate deposits remind you of snow in a way?

Can you tell me what time it is? I sure wouldn't be able to with this watch. This is the newest watch to come out made by Tokyo Flash, which was designed and sent in by a fan. The Kisai Stencil LCD watch comes in either black or white leather straps and 5 different display colors. To see the date press the bottom button, press it again to see the time set for the alarm, and press it again to get
back to the time. The top button is to see the blacklights to see the time in the dark. I watched the video a few times and wasn't able to figure out how the time was 12:48. If you can figure it out tell me lol. I am not a big watch wearing person and can't figure out the time on the watch, but it's a pretty cool design.
Can you tell the time from watching the video linked?
Would you buy a watch like this?

Jigokudani Monkey Park is part of Joshinetsu Kogen National Park in Japan. The word Jigokudani means "Hells Valley" in Japanese, due to the steam and the hot water that comes out of the crevices in an area that's quite hostile and cold otherwise. This park is home to about 200 Japanese Macaques or Snow Monkeys as some like to call them. The monkeys are wild so they advise visitors to not touch
them or eat food near them. They spend much of the colder months in the valley near the hot springs and forage for food in other parts of the park in the warmer months. I am a big animal lover and would love to visit here during the winter months. Look how chilled and relaxed they look in the hot springs. That looks like the life. I am not going to lie I want to pet the one in picture 4, he/she looks so soft haha.
Have you ever visited hot springs before and taken a dip in some?
Are you are relaxed as the monkeys sitting in the springs in picture 1?

Eastern Island is a Polynesian Island that is famous for its 887 statues called moai which were created by the Rapanui people hundreds of years ago. As you can see these statues are either heads or statues with simple bodies. These islands are a UNESCO World Heritage Site is the most remote inhabited island in the world. Like many islands Easter Islands and the surround area are good for scuba
diving, tuna fishing and surfing. Another thing to check out are the Dos Ventanas (Two windows) cave, which is an old lava tube which has a magnificent view. Unfortunately pictures of Easter Island mainly focus on the moai sorry :p.
Can you believe these statues were made hundreds of years ago?
What do you think they were staring at?

The Junkosphere Exhibit by Nicola Hawkins was at a place called The Rooms in St John's Newfoundland. When we visited unfortunately we were not able to take pictures anywhere inside due to copyright issues and also a lot of pieces that were at The Rooms were hundreds of years old like from the Titanic and what not and they didn't want our flash photography to degrade the materials so I was not
able to take pictures of this exhibit which was super neat especially the "Earth" in the first photo which you could hand crank and rotate and could view from a second level from the stairs shown. I did crank it a few times lol, but it looked quite unstable and I was afraid it'd fall on me so that fun was short lived lol. Her 3D and 2D art pieces consist of mixed media from paint, pencil, to magazine cut outs, you name it if it was something that could be glued or hammered on it could well possibly have been on one of her pieces like tin cans in the second exhibit item called "End of the Road." The third piece primarily consisted of magazine cut outs. If you saw it in person you could see how glossy the finish was on the pictures. I was like damn I should be doing some magazine clippings for art work lol. The last three pieces were either quite large or hung quite high so I wasn't able to get a good view of them as the last two took up a large portion of the walls.
The reason why she made these pieces was cause she "wanted to explore the impact that consumer culture has on the planet; our deluded idea that stuff brings satisfaction. The dream that if we have a bigger house, newer car, a new dress and lather ourselves with snake oils we will be happier and be seen as successful. I wanted to show how the waste of this insatiable consumerism doesn't just disappear; it ends up in landfills, in the ocean, as pollution in the air. Our waste doesn't leave the planet - it is still here all around us, we just choose not to see it. Tragically and inexcusably, we export some of the worst of it to poorer countries"
The art portion of The Rooms was probably the most interesting for me as there were archives if you wanted to look up past events or family history if you have family in Newfoundland and Labrador, Museum portion which had a lot of items from the Titanic and found in and around Newfoundland years ago. The was a bunch of Andy Worhol stuff too, which I wish I could've taken pictures of but they have security all over the place preventing you from going all snap happy.
What do you think of this exhibit?
Would you have hand cranked the "Earth" in picture 1 even if it looked like it'd fall on you and wobble a bit?

On both trips to Hawaii we went to Nobu and we were glad we did. It's pretty hard to get reservations and it is in the Parc Hotel where the cast of Lost stayed when they filmed in Hawaii and on both occasions since we couldn't dine in the restaurant on days and times we wanted we sat at the bar and were served by Kenny both times who was really helpful in telling us where to get cheap liquor and
seafood salad when we were there. We ordered an assortment of cold and hot dishes and dessert.
We started with the Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno in picture 1, a scallop dish which was a special for the day, a salmon special, and also the black cod saikyo miso. We had the black cod on both visits because it was literally the best cod we've ever had in our life. I don't remember a lot about the meal because it had been quite a long day of hiking and I just really wanted to eat, but it was all delicious. We ordered some drinks and I had the kumquat and cilantro martini, the man ordered some drink I can't remember in picture 6 and then ordered the pineapple vodka martini I think or something along the lines of that lol. All drinks were $14 each and they do not skimp on the liquor in these as I was pretty out of it after one drink which is why I only had one beverage. When you know your words start a slurring you know it's hit you lol.
For dessert the man had the Grilled Goat Cheese Pound Cake which has black pepper ice cream, lemon curd, raw Kiawe honey, macadamia nut liqueur foam, seared strawberries & carmelized macadamia nuts. That was quite tasty but the Bento Box I had with Flourless chocolate cake, goma tuile and green tea ice cream was so much more tasty, but I am a fan of chocolate cake and so was he because he kept trying to eat mine lol.
Which dessert would you have preferred to eat?
Have you eaten at Nobu?
What did you think?

We shall talk about the arm, chest, and shoulder exercises first =)
In pictures 2, 3, and 4. I am doing a bent over row to a tricep kick back. With feet about shoulder's width apart and knees slightly bent and dumb bells in position, bring the dumb bells upto your body as in picture 3, while exhaling and hold for a brief second and kick back your arms as in picture 4. This will work out your
middle back, biceps, triceps, lats, and shoulders.
In pictures 5 & 6 I am just doing a bent over row in the same body position as the previous exercise but with the dumb bells positioned so your palms are facing towards you and not at each other like the previous positions. Bring the dumb bells up and exhale while doing it. This will work the same muscle groups, but will not be focusing on the triceps as much mostly the middle back, biceps, lats, and shoulders.
Since the triceps consist of 3 muscles I try to work them out with different exercises. So with the overhead extension shown in pictures 7 & 8, we will start with legs shoulder width apart and with the body straight and dumb bells in position like picture 7, then we will extend your arms above your head to contract the triceps, hold briefly and lower with control. If you cannot do it with both arms, try doing it with one each time.
Pictures 9, 10 & 11 are another combo exercise. Standing about hip width apart curl biceps up to picture 10 and then press and lift your arms up and exhale to picture 11. I like to do which is a bicep curl to a press, which works out biceps, triceps, shoulders, and your pectoral muscles.
Pictures 12 & 13 are just a dumb bell press, which will work out your chest, shoulders, and triceps primarily and is similar to the last two steps of the previous exercise.
Onto the update. I have been eating like a pescatarian for the past week or so and have been only eating eggs, veggie ground, cheese, nuts, tofu, greek yogurt and fish like sole, tilapia, and salmon and cut out all other animal protein sources. I've noticed an increase in energy and it seems to be easier to tone up without having red meat or chicken in my diet as the protein sources I am eating are more easily digested to be used up by the body. My goal ultimately is to tone up for the year, primarily the core area and arms since I have a bunch of weddings to attend and want my arms to look friggin fantastic in the sleeveless dresses I plan on wearing. I've been working out every other day so about 4 times a week usually Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday as I was working out Monday-Friday at first and noticed a lot of soreness in my muscles and joints as I did not have enough recovery time. On the off days minus Saturday I have been doing 15 minute jogs/walks as I am supposedly going to do a half marathon later this year haha, we'll see about that. My post work out snack has remained the same throughout the past 2 weeks, which is fat free plain greek yogurt with sliced bananas, so I can get my protein and carbs in one shot. Once my arms don't wave, my mid section doesn't jiggle when I flick at it when relaxed not tensed, and my butt is toned I will be at my goal. Also if I could run a half marathon that'd be pretty kick arse, but I am sort of not counting on that haha because the training schedule is hardcore and I like to exercise for 15 mins not run 2.5 hrs yikes haha.
Did you have a New Year's Resolution to lose weight or tone up?
Are you sticking to it?
Is there anything physically that you'd like to accomplish this year?
Have you tried eating like a pescatarian?
Pictures are of me and you do not have permission to use them. I am not a physical trainer. This is what I do and what seems to be working

A lot of you may know Britney Spears, like a lot of celebrities came out with a bunch of different perfumes to sell. When Brand Sense Partners introduced Britney to Elizabeth Arden to front her new perfume "Radiance," they were supposed to receive 35% of the profits made from the sale. But Britney cut a deal behind Brand Sense Partner's back and it bit her in the butt because they found out and
sued her. They have come to a settlement now and Brand Sense Partners received their commissions and a lump sum. I think it's quite shady that she did this. If you were wanting a fragrance why not directly reach out to someone with Elizabeth Arden first and not be shady and go behind their backs after you meet with the perfume making company.
Have you smelled her perfume Radiance?
Do you think she was kind of shady for what she did?

Rarely would I ever look at pictures and think that the place is fake, but in this case the rock formations at The Wave in the Coyote Buttes in Arizona looks kind of wonky. It looks like something someone may see if they were hallucinating or something, but no these are in fact real rock formations. These formations are actually sand dunes which have been calcified and the rich assortment of
color is from the iron oxides, hematite, and goethite that is deposited. To get here you have to hike a moderately difficult 3 mile trail and also get a permit, but you know what can prevent you from coming here if you wanted to? They only issue 20 permits to visit this area per day due to the delicate nature of the rock formations. I think it'd be a great hike though. It may look a little trippy walking it, even looking at pictures looks like something out of someone's psychedelic drug trip if one were to may be take some LSD lol.
What do you think of The Wave?
Do you think it looks like something out of someone's psychedelic drug trip? Weee lol
