With summer coming up it's time to ditch the pants and grab your razor to get your legs ready for short and dresses and swim suits! There are several things I do when I shave during the summer to keep my legs looking their best.
1. Exfoliate. I cannot stress this enough, no matter how much lotion you apply, nothing will make your legs as silky smooth as proper exfoliation. I recently purchased
a body brush off amazon.com for around $5. The bristles are firm enough to slough off all the dead skin, but soft enough so that they don't irritate my skin. I use it to scrub my whole body with Dial bodywash.
2. Shave. I have tried several types of razors, but my favorite by far is the Venus Embrace. The five blades give you a fantastically close shave. Change your razor often for the best results - a dull razor is never good. I use Skinitmate raspberry shave gel - I don't think your shaving cream type matters too much as long as you do actually use shaving cream. I like this one because it smells like a garden stuck inside a rain forest covered in the ripest, freshest fruit ever, and the scent still isn't overpowering at all.
3. Moisturize. I go back and forth between Aveeno unscented daily moisturizer and Suave Advanced Therapy unscented moisturizer depending on how much cash I've got when I go to buy new lotion.
4. Optional: Tanning Lotion. I like Jergens Natural Glow for fair skin - the smell is a little strong, but it gives me a subtle glow that is so pretty and definitely noticeable.
Bonus tip: Exercise. There is nothing like running and squats to get your legs looking as shapely as possible. No amount of exfoliating and shaving is going give you toned legs.
Bonus tip 2: This is fantastic for your bikini line too - exfoliating down there makes all the difference for avoiding unsightly bumps, whether you shave or wax.

I just bought these Madden Girl Zorrba boots and i absolutely adore them!!! They are so comfy and so beautiful. I love the combat boot trend that started last fall and wanted to try it out this year. I'll probably pair them with dark gray skinny jeans, a black sweater, and my fav turquoise scarf for a pop of color. So excited to wear them, I almost can't wait for fall!!
What do you guys think
about combat boots as a fashion statement?

So I hit up Target and Kohls this past weekend to do some back to school shopping. I'm moving into my dorm in a couple of weeks, and I got some products I really need, and a few clothing items to add to my wardrobe to start the new school year.
Here's what I got:
Slouchy Green top - Kohls: 15.99
Red Dress - Target: 10.00 (sale!)
5 Star, 3 subject notebook
Bic pens, 10
pack, black
Light blue boy shorts - Target: 5.00
Purple thong - Target: 5.00
Dial Lavender body wash
Herbal Essences, None of Your Frizziness Conditioner
Herbal Essences, Long Term Relationship Shampoo
Herbal Essences, Tousle Me Softly Hair Spray
Tresemme Heat Tamer
Clean&Clear Black Head Eraser Scrub
That's just the first of several shopping trips for back to school - I'm looking at these fabulous Steve Madden combat boots, hopefully getting those soon!
Ladies who are headed back to school, what essentials do you need to pick up for this fall?

So I'd been looking for a pair of sandals pretty much since last summer, but i really don't like the way T-strap ones looks and gladiator sandals are a bit much for my taste. I was looking for something less flashy, but still fancy, to go with sundresses. I found these at Forever 21 for 7.95! What a fantastic deal! Needless to say, I bought two pairs (one in rose, and one in gold - i like the
rose ones best, they're a pale coppery color that is so beautiful) . I love love these sandals, I wear them everywhere these days.

I've always used a basic Betty Crocker box mix for making brownies, and they work pretty well, but the brownies are never fudge-y enough to fit my taste. I've even tried cooking them for a few minutes fewer than what's listed on the box, but that doesn't quite do it.
I figured out the secret to perfect brownies. Whichever mix you're using, add 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips,
and 1/4 cup milk chocolate chips, and cook for 2 minutes less than the recommended time. The results will be well worth the extra effort, I've honestly never had better brownies.

I find more and more that when I'm sitting around wishing I had a movie to watch, I just imdb my favorite actors and watch something of theirs I haven't seen yet.
Orlando Bloom has long been a favorite of mine, if you haven't seen Troy I highly recommend it. (It has Brad Pitt too, he is pretty high on my list of hot actors too lol)
My favorite of all time is
Jonathan Rhys Meyers, though. I absolutely adore him in Match Point, where he plays an English tennis pro opposite Scarlett Johansson.
Do you have an actor whose movies you seen all of, just because he is such a fantastic actor, or because he's ridiculously attractive?

So with summer pretty much upon us, most girls are working crazy hard to get into bikini shape. I'm focusing on toning up a bit and controlling my sugar intake, and these images are my motivation. The concept of thinsperation really is effective, I just keep my mind on the body I want. I don't really listen to a lot of her music (although What The Hell is a guilty pleasure
of mine) but I think Avril Lavigne (the fourth picture) has an amazing body. She looks so healthy and slim, probably the most realistic goal for me. Miranda Kerr and Jessica Alba are two of the other images I keep in mind when deciding if I want another cookie.
Who is your thinsperation?

So I don't know if anyone else is excited for summer vacations, but I am. I used to have serious trouble figuring out what to pack, but I think I've managed to come up with a pretty perfect list of essentials that don't require too much luggage (at least for a 20 something female :)
1. 7-8 basic tank tops: they don't take up much space and they're a summer staple, and 4-5 basic v-neck
t-shirts
2. 2 or 3 pairs of shorts: one denim, one dressier for a more put together look
3. At least 2 bikinis!! Obviously the most important for the beach.
4. Underwear for ten days. things happen. enough said.
5. 2 comfortable day dresses: they're a whole outfit in one piece that can be dressed up or down for a nice brunch or walking the boardwalk.
6. Shoes: 1 pair of flipflops, 1 pair of nice sandals, Sneakers if you plan to work out like I usually do, and 1 pair of hot black heels for going out.
7. Yoga pants or soffe shorts for hanging around your beach house/condo in the evening and for exercise
8. 1 Hoodie: the people I go with always keep our place way too cold for my taste
9. 1 or 2 cute cardigans: perfect for chilly restaurants and shops, when your tank top just isn't warm enough
10. Accessories: 1 favorite carry-all bag for day time, 1 clutch or wristlet for nights, fun, colorful jewelry, belts if they go with the dresses you bring
11. Beauty: Hair brush, toothbrush, travel size toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, hair products (tresemme heat tamer for me), make-up essentials (but try to bring only the products you actually need), moisturizer, sun block, deodorant, contact lense stuff (if you wear them like I do), any other products you use - i'm not going to list ALL the stuff I use haha
12. Beauty tools: hair dryer, flat iron, manicure set, favorite nail polish (ocean water really messes with your manicure)
13: Other: Laptop, camera, cellphone, chargers, iPod, Beach read (I recommend anything by Sophie Kinsella for this), sunglasses, beach towel
What are your beach essentials?

The movie comes out July 15. Are you dying waiting for it like me, or could you care less?
Are you more excited for the new twilight movie? (if you are, are you crazy?)
Personally, I hyperventilate a little when I see trailers/ads for this movie. I grew up with the series, the characters, and I will be heartbroken when it is all over. And probably spend the rest of my life re-reading the
books, no matter how well I already know them.

Have you noticed yourself drinking more soda than you know is healthy for you? I was drinking at least a can of Pepsi every single day until I quit cold turkey last month. It was so difficult for the first few days, but I'm starting to get used to it. I'm drinking about 64 ounces of water everyday now, in place of the soda and I feel amazing. My skin looks great, my digestive system is so much
more regular (if you wanted to know, haha) and I've dropped a couple pounds without a whole lot of extra effort. Have you ever tried to give up soda?
