my older sister is a all about makeup, best trends in clothes, and just all in all a great diva :). not only does she always make herself look good but she made this awesome painting and i just love it. the way the glitter looks on the awesome purples are so nice and she even gave her some cool makeup. i think shes wearing gloss :)
I love cake esp if its with the home made icing my family (moms side)has been doing for years. im not sure where it was picked up from or whom but i know ive never met or seeing anyone outside my family make it. so even though i love sweets, im not a fan of like most (not all) store bought icing. its way toooo sweet for me. so when i make my cakes i always use what most of my family uses for
icing. its a whip creme kinda icing. all you need are 2 simple ingredients. some cool whip and creme cheese. you just blend the two together and whala! all done :). so simple and so yummy. its just thr right amount of sweetness for me and nice and cool. i like to layer my cakes and put some pineapple jam in between the layers. i then top with pineapple and cherries. you could use any kind of fruit on it. sometimes i like to add some pecans all around it as well. i made this huge one on the pic for a family reunion(dads side)and everyone loved it! so next time you make a cake try it out and let me know what you think.
Some foods are yummy but when bacon is added its just like heaven in your mouth. one of my favorite things to make my family is bacon wrapped stuffed jalapenos. they are so easy to make and a great crowd pleaser. what you need for them is... some nice green chile peppers, bacon, creme cheese, and tooth picks. you can either slice a I cut on the jalapeno or split it in half to make it easier when
stuffing. once you cut them you can clean out the seeds, i then like to put them in a bowl of ice cold water for about 20 mins(suppose to help so they are not to spicy hot later), after the cold water process you can lay them on some napkins to dry or just quickly wipe them dwn a bit. now its time to stuff them. with a butter knife( i find it easier with it) spread the creme cheese in the inside of the jalapeno. when they are all stuffede its time for the bacon. cut bacon strips in half and begin wrapping each jalapeno. to keep bacon nicely attached you can put toothpicks on the ends of the bacon and into the jalapeno. when ready you can put them in the oven at @ 250*. i like mine nice and crispy so i leave mine in for about 45mins. once you get them to your fav crisp, pull them out and let them cool for 10mins. dont forget to take toothpicks out when getting ready to eat. i love these and i hope yall do too.
Those nice hot sunny days are here!i love spring and summer time. its just the best to be out and about relaxing at the beach. im from a lil island on the south tip of texas where the beach is our back yard. the way the nice warm water feels when you go for a cool down or maybe just going to get some sun and chill in the sand. ahh its priceless! its not a big island but it does have alot of good
sea food restaurants, nice chill local bars or even good spring break party clubs. overall that i must say, the best part of being there is the beach. weather you go to it for a jog, family funday, bbq's, banana boat, para sailing, volley-ball, sand castles, ect... its the best.
spring time is here and im ready fro some good times and good food with the family. one thing our family loves to do is BBQ! we will do it year round but esp in the spring/summer time. one of my favorite things to grill is some yummy shrimp kabobs. i was raised eating yummy gulf shrimp so our home usually has a few bags of it in the freezer. one of my fav ways to make it is by adding... onion,
tomato, pineapple, and of course the shrimp. you could also add mushrooms and green and red peppers. ill put them on the skewer in a pattern way. i will then drizzle a little olive oil on them and season them with some salt and pepper. you can then go ahead and put them on the grill just for a couple of mins. once i see my shrimp get a nice pinkish orange color they are pretty good to go. they are simple and delish!
So for my babes birthday i decided to make him lumpia. he is a pacific islander and i am his hispanic girl whom had him move to texas with me. he was feeling like eating things he was used to eating back home but we couldnt find a place like it near us. when he mentioned lumpia i figured... how hard could it be right? ill just buy the lumpia wrapps and take it from there. well my luck i couldnt
find any in my local grocery store. so my next attempt was to google how to make my own lumpia batter. i tried and did my best but in the end i think they turned out more like egg rolls. lol at least he enjoyed it and i love him so much id try to go out of the box and please him..... btw, he later found some lumpia wrappers at a near by store.
I came across a DIY facial mask and wondered about one of its ingredients. the one ingredient that boggled me was apple cider viniger. it sounds like a good facial mask but i wonder if the apple cider viniger would dry out my skin? it does have honey, sugar, and green tea in it as well which sound fine to me. so i guess ill have to look into it some more but all in all im leaning towards.... itll
be ok for my face :). what do yall think?
