Lately I've been obsessed with Rebecca Minkoff bags! I broke down on Sunday and actually ordered one from Amazon! I ordered from Amazon because you can get free shipping and no taxes which is amazing in my opinion and because it wasn't sold from another seller and was actually from from AMAZON, I wasn't worried about receiving a fake.
I ended up buying the mini MAC (morning after clutch) in
"bright green". I've never seen this color in stores so I was taking a risk by buying it and not knowing if I'll like the color. I thought it was going to be a minty green and while it is, its not exactly what I was expecting. Its darker than the pictures, more comparable to the third picture where I'm showing the inside of the bag. But, I still like it so its no big deal.
This particular bag has silver hardware. It has 2 zippers, one under the lock clasp and then one on the top. The metal chain is removable so you can use it as a clutch or you can use it as a crossbody/shoulder bag.
Overall, I really like it and I'm already looking at other Rebecca Minkoff bags! lol I have a bag problem!! In total the bag cost $195 in case you were wondering.. if you have ask questions, let me know in a comment! :)
I'm so happy right now! Last week I finally broke down and purchased the Marc by Marc Jacobs Classic Q Lil Ukita in black! I've been lusting after this bag forever and I was finally like you know what? I'm buying it! Ok so I probably wouldn't have bought it if I didn't get an amazing deal on it..
Instead of purchasing this baby for $428 like it originally is, I got it for $355 with tax. How?
Well first because I have a Gap card I got a $10 certificate for spending a certain amount of money. Next thanks to this new app I have called "Viggle" which rewards you for watching tv, I was able to trade my points in for a Gap $10 gift card. Then I always go on "retailmenot.com" to search for coupons and promo codes before I buy anything online and they had a $10 off $50 or more so I got to use that. FINALLY, Piperlime allowed me to stack that code with a 15% for signing up for e-mails which took around $65 off! So at the end of it all instead of paying $455 (with tax), I only paid (drumroll please..) $355.. Yep, you're reading that right. I got $100 off of this bag! Oh yeahhhh! Thats what I call a good deal!
Back to my little beauty! This bag is gorgeous. Its smaller than most the bags I buy but I wanted a good black bag that I can use pretty much anywhere. Its a leather pebble material with gold accents. It has a short handle but then a long strap thats removable. Theres no pockets on the outside but theres a zip pocket (also gold!) and then 2 little pockets. I love how the inside of the back is the iconic Marc Jacobs design! It also came with a dust bag which I think I might turn into a pillow because I saw Dulce Candy did that to one of hers and I think it'd be a cute pillow.
I can't wait to start using it! It was supposed to come tomorrow but it came today instead! As soon as I woke up I checked the status and it said delivered! The FedEx man literally came 30 minutes before I woke up so I got dressed and raced to my apartment's office to pick it up from them lol
I'm going to cherish this bag FOREVER! If you have any questions, feel free to ask! Have a good day
Wouldn't you love to be able to get gift cards and other rewards for watching TV? Well now you can! Using the "Viggle" app for iPhone.
Viggle is a free app that allows you to "check in" to the show you're watching and then rewards you a certain amount of points. To check in all you do is play a show thats on TV (I don't think it can be a recorded show), press the button inside the app, and
then it listens to your show for about 10 seconds and detects which show you're watching. Note: You can only check into one show at a time!
After the show is over, within around 5 minutes your account will be updated with the amount of points you received. You can also get points for watching certain ads/commercials within the app.
You can get points for ANY show thats on but they do have a list of shows that offer more points like watching Giuliana & Bill will get you 350 points.
Once you get enough points you can use them in the Viggle shop. 7,500 points can get you a $5 gift card to Starbucks, 14,000 can get you a $10 gift card to Sephora, $15,000 a free movie ticket, or you can even get a Kindle Fire for 375,000 points. Theres more rewards too but thats just to name a few.
And its EXTREMELY easy to earn points. When you first sign up and complete your profile I believe you get close to 2,000 points. I can earn around 1,000 points just for checking into a few shows and watching some ads.
And I personally GUARANTEE it works! I already cashed in 14,000 points to receive a $10 GAP gift card which I received within ONE HOUR via e-mail. I already used it too on GAP's sister site "Piperlime"!
I wouldn't say this is better than Luuux but it is so much easier to earn points quickly! Obviously Luuux has better rewards you can get but if you're lusting after something at GAP but want to save some money, about a week and a half on this app will save you $10!
I highly recommend using this app because its very awesome! If you have any questions, let me know :)
On Friday I had a job interview and I figured I'd show everybody my outfit because I know when I have an interview I'm always trying to find ideas what to wear because I don't want to under dress or dress inappropriately.
Its always better to OVER dress than UNDER dress so I opted for "business casual" because the interviewer (I had a phone interview prior to landing a face to face
interview) didn't tell me what the setting would be.
What I wore:
Bottoms: I chose to go with black business pants that I bought from Kohls. I always recommend trying Kohls first because they have tons of business clothes at low prices plus always have coupons circulating around.
Jacket: I wore a black blazer because I wanted to dress a bit more professional and my shirt was sleeveless which you shouldn't wear to an interview (in my opinion). I purchased this blazer from H&M for $35 and its a piece you can dress up or down.
Shirt: For my shirt I chose this silk-esque v-neck shirt from Forever21. Its a pinky nude color. Its apart of the Rory Beca collection and has a GORGEOUS back that has little cutouts all over it. With a blazer paired over it, it looks like an expensive blouse! (Don't worry, my shirt was wrinkly when going to the interview, I took pictures afterwards lol)
Shoes: I didn't have any comfortable shoes to wear so I went out and bought these. I don't think they're the cutest shoes ever and probably won't wear them unless its for an interview but they're conservative with a small heel which is always nice for an interview.
Accessories: The only accessories I wore was my Tiffany's heart necklace because its small and elegant.
For my makeup I kept it simple with just some foundation to even out my skin, light eye makeup which was just eyeliner and mascara, and then some blush!
So now that my outfit is out of the way, I bet some of you are wondering where my job interview was.. Well.. it was at.. UNIVERSAL STUDIOS! And I got the job! I can barely believe I got an interview with them since I've only had 2 jobs and it was for barely a year. But I got 2 interviews with them and by the end of the first one I was offered a job and of course, ACCEPTED it!
I'll be working as a cashier at Islands of Adventure in Dr.Seuss Land! I think its going to be a really fun job. I'm glad I was chosen to work at that part because its one of my favorite places there. Although I wish I could work in Harry Potter World but oh well, maybe one day!
I have orientation this week and can't wait to hear about all the things I'll be doing and the benefits I'll be getting! So happy!!
lol well if you have any questions, feel free to ask! :)
Today I went shopping and of course, stopped by the Victoria's Secret "PINK" store.
The first thing I picked up was this really cute "Love Pink" black v-neck. I love the PINK shirts because they're so soft and don't really cling to you like most shirts. The letters look painted on and kind of painted which really drew me to the shirt and then it has the cute pink dog in a metallic gold. It was
$19.50 but I had an Angel's Reward card for $10 so I got it for $9.50.
The next items I got were of course the underwear because who can resist their cute panties? They were 5 for $26 but I had another $10 off card so I got them for $16.
And because right now you get a free Secret Rewards card with any $10 purchase I got 2 because i had to split my transactions since I had 2 Angel Rewards cards.
Hopefully this time around I get a card more than $10! Fingers crossed lol
Thats right, I got an iPad 3! I pre-ordered it the day it became available on Apple's website and just received it on Friday which is the day it was officially released.
I'm so happy I got it! And was able to preorder it. I've been anticipating the launch of this baby for a while. I suspected that on the 7th they were going to announce it and make it available for preorder and sure enough,
when I went to the Apple online store they were "updating" the store and I knew they were going to be putting it up for preorder. I had to stalk the store online for HOURS because once it was finally done updating and it was up for sale, everybody was on the site, making it EXTREMELY slow (much like how that happens here on Luuux). But finally I was able to order it and it was such a sweet victory!
Theres not much difference between the iPad 3 and the iPad 2 other than a better display resolution, voice dictation, and a better camera. But I figured, I waited long enough to get it, I'm going to just order the new one.
I ordered the white iPad 16GB with WiFi. I opted out of spending another fortune to get the 4G because its around $200 more and its just not worth it to me when theres millions of places now that offer free WiFi anyways.
So far, I'm very impressed. One app that I was dying to try out is the "Bright House Networks" app. It allows you to watch TV from anywhere in your home. This is great for me because I only have a TV in my living room so when I want to lay in bed and watch a movie, I can't. But now I can! The quality is amazing. Its HD which is better quality than my own TV! And the app is completely free as long as you already have cable service with Bright House! Makes it 10x better!
I can't wait to start reading some books on my iPad either. I'm always forgetting my books at home and regret it but because I'll pretty much be taking my iPad everywhere I go (like to school or on trips) I'll always have something to read.
My advice is, if you want an iPad and have the money, go for it. Its really neat. I know a lot of people say its just a big iPod or whatever but I don't think so. Its a really cool and handy gadget to own.
If you have any questions, let me know!
Lately I've been fed up with my bad eating habits and decided enough is enough! I want to start eating healthier plus exercising. I went grocery shopping today and picked up some healthy choices, one of which is "Naked" 100% juice smoothie in "Green Machine".
I first saw Naked drinks on YouTube. They're an all natural, no sugar added, no preservatives, vegan, fruit AND vegetable
smoothie/drink. Each drink is PACKED full of tons of fruits and vegetables.
Theres tons of flavors you can get but my local Walmart only has around 4 different kinds. I picked up 2 today. I got "Green Machine" which is what I'm reviewing today because its the only one I've tried so far, and I also got "Strawberry Banana".
Heres what in "Green Machine".. 2 3/4 apples, 1/2 banana, 1/3 kiwi, 1/3 mango, and a hint of pineapple. Sounds delicious right? WELL, somethings in it that may make people run the other direction would be.. 1300mg spirulina, 400mg chlorella, 100mg broccoli, 100mg spinach, 50mg blue green algae, 50mg garlic, 75mg barley grass, 75mg wheat grass, 50mg ginger, and 50mg parsley.
Trust me, you CAN NOT taste any of the vegetables or herbs! It tastes just like fruit. Specifically banana and pineapple! Its one of the most delicious fruit drinks I've ever had.
Theres 4 sizes you can get. I got the 15.2 oz drink which costs around $2.50 at Walmart which is kind of expensive but well worth it. This bottle is 2 servings at 140 calories per serving.
I highly recommend trying it. I know I'm going to keep trying the different flavors when I come across them! If you have any questions, let me know!
Today I went to Kohls because I really needed a pair of workout shoes since I want to start working out and getting into shape. But of course, I couldn't stop there, I need to treat myself to cute things too! So heres what I got..
1. Lauren Conrad Sequin Flats: I saw this a while ago and fell in love! I love all things sequin and sparkly. I don't really have any flats that I wear so when I saw
these I knew I had to have them. I was going to get them when I first saw them but I decided to wait until I got a Kohls coupon in the mail and I finally got one! They were originally $59.99, marked down to $47.99, and my coupon was 30% off so I got them for $33!
2. Nike Revolution: Kohls didn't have a wide variety of running shoes that I liked but these are pretty cute. I like that they have the pop of pink and blue on them. They were originally $55, marked down to $49.99, and with the coupon I got them for $34
3. Heart bowl: Lastly, which isn't shoes obviously but I decided to share anyways, is this cute little heart bowl. It was in the clearance area with the leftover Valentines decor. It was originally $17.99 but I got it for $3! I got it for my shower so I can put my razor and other little random things in there so they're not all over the place in my shower
Thats all for my haul. I spent $76 on 2 pairs of shoes and a bowl which is nearly half of what it would have been with no markdowns and coupons! Boy do I love Kohls and its great deals lol
If you have any questions, let me know!
About a week ago I heard a cat crying. Where I live, you can literally hear your neighbor sneeze so I figured it was their cat. Then one day while I was watching tv, I heard the cat crying again and thought to myself "thats really loud.." so I got up and looked outside and I saw this cute little kitten!
The way my apartment building is set up is theres 2 walls parallel to each other and
in-between them theres some bushes and also where my big bedroom window is. When I investigated a little further I saw that there was a hole that was against one of the walls which is where the kitten had been living.
It makes sense that a cat lived out there because my cat is ALWAYS sitting on the windowsill looking outside but I always thought he was just being a little creep (haha). So anyways, I've been putting some water and food outside for him. After a few days I discovered it was just him living in the hole. My apartment complex has a lot of wild cats but whenever I saw them walking by, the kitten would run up to them and they just walked away and wanted nothing to do with him.
After seeing he had no mother around I decided I had to catch this poor little guy. And I tried EVERYTHING! I tried going up to him, sneaking up on him, and I even tried to lure him out using my cat but as soon as he saw me, he ran. I even tried waiting by my open window to see if I could grab him while he ate but he was too fast.
Finally, over the weekend when I went to see my parents, I borrowed a live trap cage from their friends. Its basically a cage that once they walk into it and step on the trigger, the door closes. It leaves them completely unharmed so don't worry! The first night I used it (last night) I ended up catching a opossum! GROSS! I had my boyfriend and 2 of his roommates come over so they could release that thing.
I waited until this morning to set the trap again because I didn't want to risk catching another opossum! Finally I heard my cat meowing by the window and when I looked outside, I saw the kitten in the trap! I was so happy.
He's in my apartment right now. He's very scared because I'm pretty sure he was born outside so he hasn't had any contact with people. I've pet him a little bit and he hasn't tried to bite me or scratch at me which is good but he's still very hesitant. I'm hopefully going to take him to the vet if I can find one that won't cost an arm and a leg because I'm a college student and don't have much money laying around.
I also hope to find him a good home because my dad would flip if I got another pet lol oh by the way, my boyfriend named him Valentine. Cute, huh? Anyways, I thought you guys might want to hear a cute little story! If you have any ideas how to make him less scared and how to get him use to me, let me know!
If you haven't heard of the "Myglam Bag" its basically like Birchbox and all those other monthly subscription companies. BUT, the interesting thing about Myglam is that it was created by Michelle Phan (Beauty Guru) and other beauty gurus are partnered with her like Bethany and Andrea. Like most of the other subscription sites, its also $10 a month. Heres what I got in my bag..
1. Heart Bag:
Ok so one of the cool things about myglam is that EVERY month when you get a bag, you get a different little cosmetic bag (or whatever kind of bag you want to make it). I especially love this months bag opposed to the other ones I've seen. The bags aren't very big but they will come in handy!
2. Ghirardelli chocolate: 2 pieces of chocolate came in the bag, both by Ghirardelli. One was milk chocolate which was absolutely delicious and creamy and the other one was dark chocolate. Ok I normally love dark chocolate but this one was terrible! I actually spit it out because it was so bitter. The packaging said it was 60% cocoa which may have been why I hated it so much, I don't know, but it was gross lol
3. Premier samples: I got 2 little samples from Premier, one is a instant stretching and revitalizing mask and the other is a concentrated facial serum.
4. Freeman Hydration Mask (Goji Berry): I really like Freeman facial masks so I'm really excited to try this
5. X-Out Shine Control: This is from the makers of Proactiv which is cool. It says its 3 in one. You can use it as an acne spot treatment, face wash, or a face mask. I have oily skin so I'm excited to try this out
6. NYX Roll On Shimmer in Almond: This is a full sized NYX product. Its really pretty but I don't know if I'll use it. I have oily eyelids so I doubt I could wear it as shadow and anywhere else would be odd to me. But its still cool.
7. $100 giftcard to Nume: Yes.. you read that right. They gave us all a $100 gift card. You can use it towards hair extensions or hair styling tools. The products are pretty expensive but still, this is awesome. I've always wanted a mini hair straightener to take on the go with me just in case so thats probably what I'll be ordering. With this gift card I'll only have to spend like $20 of my own money for it! Thats a steal!
Overall, I'm happy with what I got but I'm a little disappointed. Last month I saw that there was so many makeup products and even full sized ones which is what made me sign up. This time we only got one makeup product. And shipping is kind of terrible.. I guess they've been having a lot of trouble shipping things out on time and what not (or at least thats what people are complaining about everywhere). They do send out tracking numbers though which is a plus but I'd rather know when my bag will be here. Like with birchbox I knew to expect it around the 10th of each month. But oh well!
I'll give Myglam bag one more month to impress me but if I don't get more makeup products, I'll probably cancel my subscription. Boo! Let me know if you're signed up for Myglam and how you like it!
