i have owned ugg style boots in the past, but i've never owned a pair of real uggs until now. i ordered these from zappos a while back and because i'm a VIP on that site, i got free next day shipping. (zappos customer service is FANTASTIC... they sure know how to make a girl happy!)
thus far, i'm really enjoying the warmth these boots offer. i love the chestnut color though i hope they won't
get dirty too easily. with a lot of boots like these, i find that i have to wear socks or my feet get sweaty, but i've read that uggs were designed to be worn without socks and actually my feet don't get sweaty in them!
i ordered a children's size 3 in the short style. i have tiny feet so these work! they're a little tight but i know from past experience and from what other ugg owners have told me that these boots will for sure stretch. i love when i get to order kids sizes and save a little money while getting the exact same product :)
do you own any uggs?

this is arguably the most widely known eyelash curler, and sadly it is not available in stores in the united states anymore. the only way to get it is to order from shu uemura's website, but there are always codes for free shipping and additional freebies, so i decided to take the plunge!
i ordered the original eyelash curler. at the time i placed my order, i had a coupon code for free
shipping and a free mini eyelash curler with any purchase, no minimum. (i believe this offer is no longer valid, though there are many free shipping codes!) my total was only $20 with no taxes... BOMB! i love that i also got the mini for free. it's nice for curling some of those eyelashes in the corner where the full sized curler may not reach.
have you tried a shu uemura eyelash curler?

i made these tuna bruschetta-like bites for lunch today. it was really easy: i just opened a can of tuna, added in some light mayo and relish, and mixed it all together. then i took a loaf of fresh bread from the bakery, one of the loaves that are long and skinny, cut up some pieces, and topped the bread with the tuna.
what did you have for lunch?

this is actually a bit of a late post as i got this about a week ago when i was still at home. starbucks lets you get any drink you want for your birthday for free. i haven't gone to starbucks in over half a year but i do know some things on their menu that i like. my favorite is the java chip frappuccino, which is super expensive! i decided to get a venti. i didn't drink the whole thing myself
though! the entire point of getting the venti was so i could share with my mom and my sister. the day that i got the drink was really warm so it was quite refreshing.
what's your favorite starbucks drink?

my roommate ended class early today and since she had extra time, she decided to make us dinner! she made linguine with clam sauce. i have no idea how she made it but it was good! i'm usually not a fan of clams or seafood of any kind, actually, but i still really liked this.
i have some romaine lettuce that i just bought so i cut that up for a salad and my other friend made some garlic toast
with bread she had. it was a good meal and came together quite well!
do you like pasta? do you like when other people cook for you? :)

my mom and i had kohl's cash to use up and we came across this hat. this isn't normally my kind of thing, but since we couldn't find anything else that we wanted and this was a really cheap clearance find, we decided to get it. it's one of those hats that have flaps covering your ears so it really keeps you warm. my family went skiing for the first time this winter, and my mom thinks this will be
a great hat for staying warm in the snow. my mom and sister both love it too so actually i'll have to share this hat! i wish we could've found more!

i haven't had pasta in a while, so i decided to make some for dinner for my family tonight. it was super simple since i didn't make anything from scratch. i just cooked penne pasta until al dente (that's how we prefer our pasta) and heated up trader joe's alfredo sauce from the jar. i know alfredo sauce is plenty easy to make from scratch but we didn't have any cream and i didn't want to go out
and get some just to make alfredo sauce when we already had alfredo sauce in our pantry! the chicken was cooked in a nonstick pan, and even though i don't like using nonstick pots and pans, it's just so darn convenient! i never have it this easy with clean up when i use my stainless steel pan at my university.
what did you have for dinner tonight?

i found this on clearance at target and had to snatch them up! i'm assuming they're like sally hansen salon effects. i have yet to use them, but the design also caught my eye. they are very simple but have the four suits (diamond, heart, spade, club). they're a part of a project runway collection.
these were originally $7.99 but as you can tell from the stack of clearance stickers, they were
probably on the final cut. i'm glad i found these! they look pretty awesome. if i end up using them (instead of giving them to my sister since she loves these so much), i will probably not apply them as illustrated and apply them with the suit at the nail tip.
have you scored any awesome beauty finds lately?

i got a coupon two weekends for a free good 'n natural bar. i mean it's free so of course i tried it out! i redeemed my coupon at cvs and sadly, there were only two flavors available: peanut butter and some cranberry one. i'm not really into fruity energy bars, so i went with the peanut butter. i'm not huge on PB, but better than dried cranberries!
the bar was okay. it was really dry though i
honestly didn't think it tasted too differently from a clif bar, which is the only other energy bar i've tried. i do feel assured by the claim on the label that it's all natural, but i haven't tried enough energy bars and carefully read the labels to know that this is something unique.
i'm glad this was free. i don't think i'd pay for this. honestly, energy bars aren't my cup of tea but they're nice to have around. i realized recently that i need more protein in my life, so energy bars might be the way to go. if i ever see the chocolate flavor, i might give it a shot.
do you like energy bars?

i'm really picky about my melons - always have, always will be! i am one of the very few people on the planet that hates watermelon. i've tried so many, and i just don't think they're very good.
the only exception is honeydew. this stuff is so good that i bought a whole one to eat by myself and i finished it in 4 days. i think the main reason i like it so much is that the first and only time i
got the flu, this was the only thing i ate and could keep down. it's been a love affair ever since!
i can eat honeydew on its own, or i can add it to a smoothie to add some texture. it's perfectly sweet and not too mushy, which is what i hate about watermelon.
do you like honeydew?
