Along with the elf Studio High Definition Powder (http://www.luuux.com/share/6c410ccee17288b6), I was quite intrigued by the concept of this powder sunscreen and happily added it to my shopping cart.
WHAT IT IS (Description from elf website - link to source below)
A portable loose powder sunscreen that can be worn alone or over any makeup for
key sun protection. Shields against harmful UVA/UVB rays to prevent premature skin aging and sun damage. The soft translucent powder is infused with healthy ingredients such as Aloe Vera Extract, Grape Seed Extract and Vitamins A,C & E to help nourish and soothe the skin.
WHAT YOU'LL GET
$6 will get you 3.5oz of product in a large plastic black squarish sifter jar that also comes with a powder puff. The product itself is a light beige tinted loose powder.
MY EXPERIENCE
Indeed the concept was different and I applied the product at first with the powder puff that comes with it. Then I'd also tried using a fluffy kabuki to apply it to my face. The results were not to my expectations. If you have combination or oily skin, this might make you look shiny as it did me. My face felt a bit plasticky which combined with sweat can be pretty uncomfortable.
WOULD I REPURCHASE?
Unfortunately no, I wouldn't. This product didn't work that well for me but I will try to continue using the one that I already have. I think that it does have potential and just maybe I can try other methods to see if it will make a difference. If I get any positive results, I'll be sure to share it with all of you.
Do you own this product? Like it, or loathe it? Feel free to share your experience in the comments below. Til next post!
I was really excited when elf came out with this product some time back and couldn't wait to get my hands on it. Priced at only $6 you get 3.5oz of product and comes in a large squarish sifter jar with a powder puff.
I'm sure I wasn't the only one who was uber excited with this product especially considering it could be a possible comparison or dupe for the MUFE HD Microfinish Powder which
retails for $30 for a 0.35oz (10% of the elf version).
Let's start with what it claims to do:
1. Creates a "soft focus" effect on skin
2. Masks fine lines & imperfections
Now I've had this powder for quite some time now and have had the opportunity to test it out. Honestly, I wasn't too impressed with the powder. It's supposed to be invisible on the skin but I find that especially in flash photography, my face looked like I had a light white mask on and that's just a light dusting of the product on my face. I will admit that the texture of the powder is very fine and soft which is nice but it didn't quite do what it claimed to do for me.
I've also tried it on my friend and it still looked ashy on her even with a light application. Unfortunately I don't have the MUFE powder for comparison and I'm not even sure I would purchase it anytime soon. Personally, I think I'll stick to tinted loose powder or plain ol' pressed powder to set my makeup and achieve that flawless glow.
Have you tried this product too? How did you like it? Did it work well/differently for you? Feel free to share in the comments below. Thanks guys!

One of my absolute favorite elf products are their Studio line blushes. I just love these and have all the old colors. When I bought these blushes, there were only 6 shades available and have since been increased to 9 shades altogether.
COLORS
Peachy Keen - A soft shimmery peach
Tickled Pink - A rosy baby pink
Candid Coral - A soft shimmery coral with hints of gold
Mellow Mauve - A
corally mauve with hints of gold shimmer
Berry Merry - A soft shimmery berry/plum with hints of gold
Blushing Rose - A soft shimmery deep mauve-rose
Pink Passion (NEW) - A bright bubble gum Barbie pink
Fuschia Fusion (NEW) - A shimmery hot pink/fuschia
Gotta Glow (NEW) - A shimmery white highlight
For $3 you get 0.097oz/2.75g of product which is a little more than half of NARS blushes (0.16oz/4.8g) at a fraction of the price ($26). The color payoff is pretty decent and very buildable. The texture of the powder is very smooth and it blends well on the skin.
I find that Peachy Keen gives a nice glow to the skin and works nicely as a highlight. If you have pale skin, Peachy Keen is subtle enough to wear as a blush/bronzer. I really like Tickled Pink and Candid Coral as well. Tickled Pink gives a nice natural rosy shade to my cheeks while Candid Coral is a fun pop of color. Mellow Mauve is a nice elegant shade to wear to give a natural glow yet with a hint of color.
Berry Merry and Blushing Rose looks amazing on darker skin tones. I used Blushing Rose on a friend and it looks beautiful and compliments her skin well.
Since I don't own the 3 new shades, I can't comment on the them individually. If you have their Sand Dollar eyeshadow, I think you can skip on the highlight shade.
In my experience, the blushes stays on well and fades only slightly towards the end of the day. You will have to layer a bit more of the product though compared with other higher end brands but $3 in my opinion is a pretty good value for these blushes.

Another product I picked up from elf is their Studio Cream Eyeliner. I was looking for a navy blue eyeliner and saw that these were sold for a mere $3 and thought I'd check them out.
The first one that I bought was in the color Midnight which was pictured on the site (as per above) as a nice navy blue color. Feedback on the website is positive with a 4 1/2 star rating from customers.
When
I received the product, I was a disappointed to find that the color was so dark it looked almost black. Since I've already bought it, I thought I'd just use it anyway. That's when I was disappointed yet again. The formula was just sheer, not thick enough and streaky. It just didn't apply well on my lids. I suppose that I could use it as an eyeshadow base over primer since it had creasing tendencies.
I also picked up the color Coffee before the first one arrived and was already beginning to regret not waiting for the first to arrive before deciding to get another one. Fortunately though this time around the formula and consistency was a lot better to work as an eyeliner. The color pay off was better and the texture creamier. Again, the product itself comes darker than pictured on the website.
Both colors have a matte finish and comes in a 0.16oz/4.7g jar. elf products are also sold at Target.

Of all the ranges from elf that I've tried so far, I must say I'm a fan of their Studio line. I feel the packaging is of better quality compared to their essentials line (I've never bought from their Mineral line before) and the products are of better quality as well.
I've recently purchased their Kabuki Face Brush ($5) which is made with anti-bacterial, synthetic bristles (Taklon to be
precise) and a black plastic base. The hair is about an inch and a half in height and has an approximate diameter of 2 1/2 inches.
Taklon bristles are usually quite soft on the skin and this was no exception. It does not feel prickly and is great for applying loose powder. The bristle density is medium dense which makes it more flexible and less stiff. I would say that this brush is ideal for light application of products and is the perfect brush to apply elf's High Definition Powder and SPF45 Sunscreen Powder. It is also a good brush to use with pressed powder or powder foundation for that light everyday use if you don't need as much coverage or to set your concealer.
I would also suggest this brush for use with bronzer to get that nice glow or with a beauty powder or light blush on the cheekbones for a rosy complexion.
However, if you're looking for a kabuki that can help you buff in your products to your skin, I would suggest that you skip this brush and try out other options like The Body Shop's Mineral Foundation Kabuki or the Sigma F45 which is more dense and buffs in products a lot better.

After the L'Oreal Pure Zone range was discontinued here, I've had to search for a new skincare line to replace it. I absolutely loved the Pure Zone line and it kept my complexion clear for the 6-7 years I'd used it.
Anyways, not wanting to steer too far from the brand, I decided to try out a few products from L'Oreal which I'll talk about in different posts individually cos I don't really
plan on having this post be a mile long.
The Hydrafresh range as the name suggests aims to provide your skin with moisturizing properties to keep it supple and hydrated. Here is the moisturizer for oily/combination skin (I have combination skin by the way). It comes in a 50ml jar and has a very light almost liquid texture which I believe why it's called an aqua-gel (water infused gel?).
I live in a tropical climate and we don't have the 4 seasons here. It's pretty much either sunshine or rain here. Or cloudy. So you can definitely expect some sweating throughout the day which can result in a shiny face at the end of the day.
So how does this moisturizer fare for me? You really don't need a lot of product to apply to the entire face. I think applying too much of the product can make the skin look greasy faster towards the end of the day and somewhat uncomfortable. Applying a thin layer however gives a nice soft texture to the skin and shine is controlled quite well. The gel has a sort of minty kinda alpine scent to it and is quite pleasing and fresh.
If you're looking for a specific type of treating moisturizer, this is definitely not for you. I would say that this is great for those who don't have a lot of problems with their skin and just wants the skin to feel hydrated throughout the day.

I enjoy Luuux for the idea of an interactive community where I could share my thoughts and finds quickly and briefly with the community and earning those Luuux points ($) to redeem fantastic stuff is a great bonus for doing something that I normally already do.
I've heard of (and seen) people copy and paste articles from other internet sources 100% and although citing the Source Link to the
article it is still considered plagiarism and defeats the purpose of this community.
Now today is a whole new low. Maybe this 13 year old (or so claimed in the profile) thinks this community is a short cut to getting quality and high end products without saving up the cash to personally buy this items in the stores, but this is honestly unacceptable. The community is about sharing original content and thoughts. Not just empty posts titled "Hi" in every single Universe. She seems to have earned herself Luuux$1039 doing this which means at least a total of 127 posts (of her typing "Hi" in the subject line and no text and image (I couldn't even submit a legit post without uploading a photo!)).
Her profile link is in the Source Link below if you would like to Report her. This is totally unacceptable behaviour and detrimental to the Luuux community's credibility.
As I was browsing through E! and those sidebar links, I stumbled upon this video on the Celebuzz website of ex-flames Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas singing their duet from Camp Rock 2, "Wouldn't Change A Thing" during their last concert in Mexico City recently.
Personally it seemed a bit painful to see not because of their vocals but rather the obvious tension between them. Demi performed like a
pro and was amazing although it did appear that she was avoiding eye contact and keeping her distance from Joe while Joe was trying a tad too hard in my opinion to re-live the song. At the end of the song after Demi thanked the audience, Joe sounded like he was trying to make good with Demi by giving her props as she rushes off stage.
From all the news and coverage on their relationship going around, it definitely seems that Joe took the break up a little too well and I think Demi really needs time away from him a bit more to heal.
Honestly, breaking up with someone you truly care about because of reasons that may or may not be true (or even relevant) then have them practically flaunt a new love in your face (whether intentionally or otherwise) and claiming that they still care about you as their "best friend", I'd imagine that to be painful. I went to a similar situation and have pretty much distance myself from him. Fortunately I'm no celebrity so I won't have to deal with websites, tabloids, news of his latest relationships and all that but I definitely feel for Demi.
I love them both as entertainers/performers/artists but on a more personal level, this brought back memories. Do you feel the same way? What are your thoughts on the tension in the air at the concert? Have you had a similar experience before?
By the way, did anyone notice Nick's expression during the song?

I came across this photo on E! Online's Fashion Police gallery and thought that it was just beautiful. The color, fit, beading and tulle totally worked for me. I loved that this was a one shoulder dress and felt the messy updo and neutral glowy make up complimented the overall look very well. Elegant and chic all in one.
What are your thoughts on this outfit?
