ρσѕt σƒ tнє ∂αу : Cheetah Print Nail: How To
Okay so how many of you just got the latest issue of Seventeen Magazine? Well, if you haven't, they recently sent out Mini Seventeen Magazines featuring "17 Things to do with your Nails". Well, in my second photo above, I have taken a picture of Page 8 and focused on the part that has #14-so look for that number. There on the upper edge
of the page is a picture of a pretty cheetah print nail design and that is where I got the idea of doing it myself. The first photo is how it actually turned out and I was actually happy with the outcome it doesn't look bad right ? So I wanna share with you all how to do the same thing.
First things first you are going to need the following:
-A base coat color- I chose a light nude color in Kiss Nail Polish
-A spot Color- I chose Black in Kiss Nail Polish
-A Spot Filler-Golden or Brown color- I used my Pro Art Polish Collection in Copper
-2 Toothpicks
- A paper for adding polish on. ( Could be a paper plate..etc.)
-Note- You can choose any colors you would want just remember to color coordinate in relation to contrast. ie: If you are using a black base, you are going to want to use a white or bright color for the spots etc....
Directions:
The first step is going to be to apply your base coat in my case it was the Nude Shade. You are going to want to let it set when you apply it to your nails for at least five minutes.
The next step we are going to take your spot color, in my case black. You are going to take your paper, paper plate..whatever you chose and you are going to add a few drops of your polish to it.
You are going to take one of your toothpicks and dip it into the spot of polish and start creating these squiggly/circular designs on your nails. -Hint- I chose to do a few practice tries on paper before getting a shape I liked. Remember though, it doesn't have to be the same or perfect. You want it to look Flawed and Natural-to an extent. Also: If you notice by the magazine picture, the cheetah spots are not fully closed. They are literally like distorted C shapes.
After you apply your desired number of spots to each nail and got it just the way you like, we are then going to take your Spot filler color, in my case Copper. & you are going to again make a few drops on your paper. Using your second tooth pick you are then going to dip it in and begin filling in the center of each of your spots.
Your last and final step will be,
[AFTER:you have let your nails dry for a while, you don't want the design to bleed.]
You want to seal your design with a clear coat.
In my own Opinion:
Now of course this sounds so crazy difficult in writing, but really it isn't. I actually found it really easy and fun. The design turned out better that I had expected. I can't wait to try more designs now that I have had my glance at the little book of nail designs. =] Anyways, hope you like.
So for those of you interested comment below and let me know what you think:
Do you think its a HIT (• ̮•) or a MISS (๏̯̮͡_๏ )?

ρσѕt σƒ tнє ∂αу : Marketside Southwest-Style Salad
This is a picture of one of the salads I have come to favor lately. It actually comes from Walmart of all places. Instead of venturing out for all these different ingredients to toss in a salad, I had one day ran across these and tried one. They come in two different varieties i think the other is a Caesar Salad with Chicken
Strips. This one is the SouthWest-Style and it has grilled chicken as well as red pepper, onions, cheese, cilantro, carrots, beans, corn, and even the nacho chips as well. This one has the SouthWestern Chipotle flavored dressing. Unfortunately I do not have the picture of the other style, the Caesar that my grandmother ate, but it looked great as well. It had tomatoes, onions, cucumber, carrot, chicken, ranch dressing. -there may be a few things i am missing from that one since i didn't eat it, I don't really remember what i seen. So if you are ever in the lettuce section of Walmart, I believe these are sold where all the pre-cut vegetables and stuff are, the hummus and stuff like that. Its all in that general area. I can't really remember the specific prices but I think it was little under $3.00, so wasn't bad at all.
In my own Opinion:
I think the Caesar one is probably great. I happen to be stuck on the one I have been eating though..again, the SouthWestern. I have to say it has a bit of a kick to it as far as spice goes. It's from the dressing. If I could compare it to anything it would be, the Gordita or Chulupa sauce that they put on the Tacos at TacoBell, so if any of you have ever had that, that's about as best as I could describe it. If I had any other suggestions to it, I would say that its always nice to add a few croutons if you like those since this one doesn't contain any as the package comes. It taste just as great without them though because like I mentioned they put chips in it.

ρσѕt σƒ tнє ∂αу : Mr. B's Salted Deep Fried Peanuts
Hey everyone, I have a real Southern Treat for you today and it happens to be Peanuts. Not just any peanut such as your regular salted, or boiled peanut...NOpE! I am talking about Fried Peanuts! Yes, Fried. These one's in particular you eat the Shell and all. I know what your thinking, your thinking eww the shell. Its actually
like a potato chip consistency though. They have them in this regular salted flavor which are the kind I had this time around. However, they do offer a Cajun flavored one and I have to say, those are my favorite of them all. They aren't really spicy but they do have a unique flavor to them. I am not exactly sure of a specific price because they do range depending on what store you get them from. Usually they are found in your local Gas Stations, an on the road sort of delicacy.
In my own Opinion:
I do absolutely love these, they are a big Hit in my house. I would much rather prefer the Cajun to regular salted, but they are a nice treat to have around. Trust me, its like a potato chip when you eat them. Peanut flavored of course. =P Anyways, let me know if you like them or perhaps have ever tried them before. Try and find yourself a bag if you haven't and get back to me and let me know what you think.
So for those of you interested comment below and let me know what you think:

ρσѕt σƒ tнє ∂αу : Kim Kardashian
Hey everyone! Thought I would start the day off with a little fashion focus on Kim Kardashian. This is the reality star photographed with her new boytoy, Kanye West at a Lakers game. So this was the look Kim chose for the event and with it, included some of the following key pieces:
Dress:
Givenchy Stretch Nappa Leather Zip Dress
- I actually
love this dress but wish it was pulled up a little higher. I think she's a little top heavy, if you know what i mean and so its weighting the top of the dress down...i just think it would look better pulled up a bit more.
Okay so just for fun, or for the few that actually do want a similar look to that of Kim's here in the photo, I have chosen some Look alike pieces which I like to call a Mock look. & so these are the pieces I have chosen:
Dress:
Faux Leather Sheath Dress from venus.com cost:$27.00
-It's not exactly like Kim's but it is similar, it has a whole different style to it including the upper collar and the length of the dress is shorter.
http://www.venus.com/viewproduct.aspx?BRANCH=7~72~&ProductDisplayID=13062&cm_mmc=ProductSearch-_-Google-_-XWEBGPS12-_-goobase_filler&sc=XWEBGPS12
Shoes:
Peep Toe Wedges from Forever21.com Cost:$36.80
-I actually threw these in as part of my mock look and it is a pair of Peep Toe Wedges, they are not strappy like Kim's. However, I like them better.
http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?BR=f21&Category=shoes_highheels&ProductID=2000045137&VariantID=
In my own Opinion:
Overall I want to say that I think Kim's dress is a hit despite the little flaw, that I had an issue with. I also am very happy with the Mock look that I chose to try and recreate the look. The prices were simply great.
-Note-I want to also note that the second photo I have put the photos together on one image so you could see the whole layout. Remember that each photo comes from its individual source link listed above in my post.

ρσѕt σƒ tнє ∂αу : Stuffed Red Peppers
It has been a really long time since I have had stuffed peppers and while I usually make the Green ones, I do have this Red Pepper Recipe for them and am ready to share. I think the Red ones really do look so pretty and pleasing to the eye. Anyways before we begin, I am going to start off by sharing the ingredients you will need so take
note:
1 cup tomatoes, diced
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup Old El Paso cheese and salsa
1 cup cooked rice
2 teaspoon Paula Deen’s House Seasoning
2 teaspoon beef bouillon granules
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 lb ground pork
3/4 lb ground chuck
4 large red bell peppers
1/2 cup green onion tops, chopped
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 cup hot water
Now that you have that recognized, the first thing you will need to do is preheat your oven to 350 degrees. & now...time to prepare, and you are going to do that by doing the following, Start by cutting the peppers in half lengthwise, leaving the stems intact, and halving them also. Remove the seeds and ribs inside the peppers.
Using a hot skillet, saute the ground beef, pork, onion, garlic, 1 teaspoon of bouillon granules, and House Seasoning together. Saute well until onions become translucent. Drain the fat off. Add the rice, cheese, sour cream, tomatoes, green onion tops, and soy sauce. Mix well and stuff the mixture into the peppers. In a small bowl, mix the hot water and the remaining bouillon granules. Pour this mixture into a shallow casserole large enough to hold all of the peppers. Place the stuffed peppers in the dish, cover with foil and bake for 25 to 35 minutes. Remove the foil and spoon the juice from bottom of the casserole over the top of the peppers. Bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes.
In my own Opinion:
I love this recipe and I really am in love with the red peppers more so than the green, however do note that they taste the same, whichever you prefer. I also want to mention that if you have your own seasoning you would rather use, you could opt for that as well. =) hope you enjoy.

ρσѕt σƒ tнє ∂αу : Baked Spaghetti
As most of you would agree, Spaghetti is a main dish in many homes throughout America. It's just one of those things that gets made very frequently in a lot of households. What may not be so common about it though is the many variations of ways to prepare it. Well for this recipe, We are going to bake it. That's right, Bake. So before we begin,
let's start off with the list of ingredients you will need to prepare this dish:
1 lb browned and seasoned ground Beef (Italian sausage can be substituted)
3/4 lb.spaghetti, cooked
1 jar (approx 15 oz) of your favorite pasta sauce
2 cups Mozzarella Cheese, grated
Now that we know what is included in the ingredients, you are going to first want to preheat your oven to 350 degrees. This is a very important step otherwise your going to have to wait until it completely preheats. Okay so now that we have that step out of the way, its time to actually prepare the dish, and how we are going to do that is::
In a large sauce pan, simmer meat and tomato sauce together. Toss the cooked noodles in the sauce.
To Assemble: Spray a casserole dish with non stick cooking spray. Spoon half of the noodle mixture into the dish. Pack it down lightly and sprinkle on half of the cheese. Add the other half of the spaghetti, pack down lightly and top with the rest of the cheese. Bake for approximately 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly.
In my own Opinion:
I want to also add that this dish is great if prepared with a light salad or a garlic bread or garlic knot. I prefer the knots to the regular bread. Also, I love cilantro and so I would like to add cilantro to the top of the dish once it has cooled. =)
So for those of you interested comment below and let me know what you think:

ρσѕt σƒ tнє ∂αу : Potato Casserole
So here's the thing, I am in love with my Carbs. I just can't help it. & I have to say that at the up most top of my list, we have the Potato. Hey I am Irish, what can I say, Potatoes are a way of life. =] lol. So if you have never ever tried a good potato casserole, I am taking pity on you and suggesting you try this recipe. This recipe is a good
and classic way of preparing this dish which I really like to offer to people who have never tried it before. There are so many different combinations out there anymore it makes it hard to appreciate the dish if you cant start off with an original..right? Well before we begin the preparation of this, I want to start off by listing the ingredients we will be using:
Ingredients Add to grocery list
8 tablespoon (1 stick) butter
1 small bell pepper, sliced thin
1 small onion, sliced thin
Paula Deen’s House Seasoning (to taste)
1/2 cup sour cream
2 cup mashed potatoes
1 1/2 cup grated Cheddar cheese
4 medium potatoes, cooked
6 slices of bacon, cooked crisp
Now that you can see what all we will be using we are first going to preheat your oven to 350 degrees. This step is important. Now that you have that out of the way, you can begin you dish like so:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spread mashed potatoes evenly on bottom of casserole dish. Layer sour cream evenly over top. (Each time you add a layer, sprinkle on a little House seasoning.) Saute onion and bell pepper in butter; evenly layer over top of sour cream. Next, layer with 1/2 cup Cheddar cheese. Slice potatoes and layer over cheese until top is completely covered with potatoes. Finally top with remaining 1 cup cheese. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Remove from oven and crumble bacon over top.
In my own Opinion:
I love this dish, I would also like to add the fact that if you happen to have left over mashed potatoes they would certainly work great with it. I hope you all enjoy, let me know if you have any other suggestions on how to enhance it or what not.
So for those of you interested comment below and let me know what you think:

ρσѕt σƒ tнє ∂αу : Turkey Pot Pie
I am so excited to share a Southern Favorite with you today and that is the Turkey Pot Pie. Of course you could always substitute the Turkey with any other choice of meat you would like, but in reality, who doesn't like Turkey Pot Pie? Okay so let's get started. First thing to go over first will be our ingredients, so take a look at all the things
you are going to need prior to preparing this fabulous dish.
Ingredients:
1 sheet frozen puff pastry
1/2 cup milk
1 egg, beaten
2 11-ounce cans condensed cheddar cheese soup
2 10 3/4-ounce cans cream of celery soup
1 large Turkey skinned, cooked, boned and cubed
2 medium onions, diced
2 cup cooked butternut squash, diced
2 cup cranberry sauce
salt and pepper to taste
Now that we have the ingredients established, we now are going to go through the preparation process, but first you are going to want to preheat your oven and for this recipe we want it to be set on 350 degrees.
Afterwards you want to follow the following steps:
To make the crust, dust surface with flour. Cut 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry into 1-inch strips, 8 inches long. On a large cookie sheet, weave strips into a lattice large enough to cover each pot pie. Mix egg and milk together and brush onto each lattice square. Bake for 5 minutes. Dough will rise and turn light golden brown. Set aside until ready to assemble pies.
In a large saucepan heat the milk and soups. Stir in turkey, onion, squash, cranberries and salt and pepper. Bring mixture to a boil. In an oven-proof pot, fill with mixture and top with the pre-cooked lattice square. Bake at 350 degrees for 5 minutes until bubbly and puff pastry is deep golden brown.
In my own Opinion:
I love this recipe, I love the artsy detail of the crust and the unique size they chose for this photo, just note you can make it however shape or style you wish. I also want to make a few more suggestions. One, you are using a Puff Pastry to create the crust and one suggestion that I enjoy with mine are using Crescent Rolls, Pillsbury I think puts them out. Two, I would also like to suggest that if you would rather substitute the cheddar soup to something different, I would suggest either of the following: Cream of Chicken or Cream of Mushroom. =] I really hope you enjoy.
So for those of you interested comment below and let me know what you think:
Do you think its a HIT (• ̮•) or a MISS (๏̯̮͡_๏ )?

ρσѕt σƒ tнє ∂αу : Lauren Conrad
Up next today we have Lauren Conrad. This photo was recently taken of her just before her Book Signing Event. This was her chosen look and with it included some of the following key pieces:
Skirt:
Paper Crown by Lauren Conrad Willow Maxi Skirt
-So this is the Willow Maxi Skirt by Lauren Conrad's fashion collection, Paper Crown. I think that
it is actually nice. I love the neutral tone to it. I love the similar color tone of the accented belt applied to it as well.
Top:
Paper Crown Primrose Ruched Bow Back Silk Tank
-I think compared with the Willow Maxi Skirt, this Bow Back Silk Tank is lovely. I love the color of it contrasted with the Skirt. It all seems to blend together nicely and all and all looks great.
So for my little version of this look I came up with the following pieces:
Skirt:
Gypsy 05 Angelina Antique Maxi Skirt from revolveclothing.com Cost: $93.00
-I think that this skirt is actually very modern and I am in love with it. Even more so than Conrad's I do believe. I like the pieces they used to style it.
http://www.revolveclothing.com/DisplayProduct.jsp?product=GYPS-WQ2
Top:
I found this Kain Classic Pocket Tank from Revolveclothing.com Cost: $79.00
- I think it matches the skirt well and is a tank like that of Lauren Conrads and completes my look just fine.
-Note- I wanted to make sure to note that while I have put together the items in the second photo, combining them in one photo. They come from the individually linked sources list in my post.
In my own Opinion:
I think that overall, I give Lauren Conrad's look a HIT. I love the neutral shades and I think that the maxi skirt is just beautiful. I am also very pleased with my mock look I chose and think that I am even more so in love with the skirt I chose. Let me know what you think.
So for those of you interested comment below and let me know what you think:

ρσѕt σƒ tнє ∂αу : Kate Middleton
Hey everyone, thought I would start my day off with some Kate Middleton Fashion pieces! Check out this photo of her captured at an Olympic Concert in London, England. This look included some of the following key pieces:
Dress:
Jenny Packham Emerald Lace Bodice Embellished Dress
-So this dress clearly makes a statement. It's all eyes on me
and the color is Gorgeous. I absolutely love it. I also love the bead and lace embellishments applied on to the dress as well.
Shoes:
Jimmy Choo Vamp Strap Sandal
-I really cannot say much when it comes to Ms. Middleton's Jimmy Choo Vamp Strap Sandals. Clearly it's because you can't really notice but a tiny little trace of them as she tries to walk on with this long dress.
So I thought it would be fun to include a little "Mock" Look if you will, to try an achieve something similar to that of Kate's. I actually happened to find the following:
NightCap Victorian Lace One Sleeve Dress
from ShopStyle.com Cost: $247.00
-I think that although this isnt the same exact dress of Kate's, I think it does present more of what I would call a modern look in a fairly similar color of Emerald. I love the lace details and the length of this dress as well.
http://www.revolveclothing.com/DisplayProduct.jsp?product=NIGH-WD133&c=&d=Clothing¤cy=USD&utm_source=shopstyle-en_US&source=shopstyle-en_US&utm_medium=affiliate&referrerURL=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.shopstyle.com%2Faction%2FloadRetailerProductPage%3Fid%3D333518451%26ctr%3D2%26ctc%3D0%26ctn%3D2%26ctp%3D2&
In my own Opinion:
I think that overall Kate's look is an absolute HIT. I think she looks stunning and the color greatly compliments her. I am a little saddened that I can't really describe what I think of the shoes and that's because its not really presented well in the photo. I think that my Mock look turned out successful as well. Obviously I didn't choose a shoe because I couldn't really compare one to Kate's considering I couldn't see them that well.
So for those of you interested comment below and let me know what you think:
