i get daily emails from dailyglow.com and sometimes the articles are pretty interesting. today's email i really liked, because i always wondered how to layer skincare items. i mean, it's easy when it's only toner and moisturizer.. but what about acne medication, serums, eye creams, and sunscreen??
well, according to the article, to get the most from your beauty products, it's important to put them on in the right order..
"1. Anything medicated, like acne or rosacea cream, goes on first, next to your clean, dry skin. The same goes for any "treatment" product, like an antiaging serum. This way the active ingredients can penetrate properly and reach problem areas. If your treatment cream is heavy, do something else (like brush your teeth) for a few minutes to let it sink in.
2. Sunscreen goes on next. (To save time and money, look for a moisturizer with SPF so you can skip this step.) Try Eucerin Everyday Protection Face Lotion SPF 30 or Lancôme UV Expert 20 Daily Moisturizing Cream SPF 20.
3. If your skin still feels dry, apply moisturizer. If your skin is oily, you can skip the moisturizer, or use it only on dry patches. Otherwise your makeup may not adhere to your skin, and it can end up looking blotchy.
4. Makeup goes on last. If you wear foundation, wait a few minutes after your last step so it doesn't streak when you apply it. Concealer goes on next, then color cosmetics, and finally powder.
5. At night, repeat steps 1 and 3. "
i always put on sunscreen after moisturizer, so that's something i've always done wrong! hope this interests somebody else too!

Thank you for sharing! I've always put sunscreen on after moisturizer, oops. :P
I always apply my acne treatments first, then moisturizer, then brows, concealer, eyeshadow, foundation, powder, blush, highlight, then setting spray :)
thank you *
OOH that's very helpful! I've always put my sunscreen after moisturizer as well, but I guess it makes sense to do it the opposite way. ;]
very helpful thanks!
