I've had these photos on my camera FOREVER and am finally getting around to posting at least this one. As I'm sure everyone knows, Maybelline came out with a line of cream shadows, called Maybelline Color Tattoos 24hr Eye Shadows, which are supposedly dupes for MAC paint pots. I own a number of colors from this line -- but I will say, even though most love this shade, this was one of my least favorites from all the shades I've tried. Tough as Taupe is a matte taupe shade, which leans a LOT more muted grey than taupe if you ask me. This also wears very grey against my skin tone. Not a look I tend to go for especially when it's this funky shade, it gives me what I can only refer to as "zombie eyes". Yo know that dead zombie skin look? LOL I guess you can say, I just flat out DON'T like this one and I'm bummed because I was really hoping I'd love it. I'm more of a neutral shadow girl (browns, etc.) or color just ... not this shade. I know a lot love it, I just don't.
QUESTION:
Have you tried the Maybelline Color Tattoos? If so, what's your favorite shade?

Too bad this shadow wasn't really a taupe but it does look pretty still =]
I think if you layer a shimmery color on top of it, it would look better. I barely touched my color tattoos after swatching them. I tend to reach for my high-end cream shadows more.
It's too bad this shade didn't work out for you. :/ It could be b/c it's more of a cool-toned shade, but I'm not sure.

hey girl. I really wanted to get this color, because like you I wanted something similar to a mac paint pot. Maybelline needs to make a color that is nude toned that I can use as a primer for my lids-- similar to rubanesque or bare study. Thanks for the review though, now i know I dont want this color as badly as i did.

Ive been wantin got get one but ive been iffy out of all I think I like the bronze one. the rest I'm not sure if theyll look right..Too bad it didn't work out for you.

It leans more grey on me, too. I WISH it were more taupe against my coloring, but I still like to use it.
