Health & Beauty » "Popped Pimple Gel Pen" Review

We all know you're not supposed to pop a pimple... but let's be honest: things happen and sometimes we can't help but get rid of that nasty thing (or things) on our faces. One way to avoid a messy repercussion from popping pimples would be to use a "Stainless Steel Blackhead/Pimple Removing Tool" which can bought at any drug/grocery store (I'LL BE DOING A REVIEW ON THAT TOO). This tool ACTUALLY gets rid of pimples and blackheads without the damage of squeezing.

However, when you don't have this tool and you pop/squeeze a pimple or blackhead you damage the skin above and below the surface and actually cause the bacteria to spread underneath the skin which causes more breakouts.

As a person who gets breakouts off and on, especially at a certain time of the month I would do "the horrible" and get rid of my pimples by squeezing them. Of course it caused more damage than I intended. I bought the remover tool mentioned above but before I got that I saw this new gel in the store and thought I'd try it out.

I bought the gel in a pen form, I believe you can also buy it in a tube, so I could take it with me and so I could store it more easily with my cosmetics. To get the product you turn the dial on the bottom and after a few rotations some clear gel-like fluids squeezes out of the top (much like some lip glosses). After you've popped a pimple and cleaned your face apply the gel over top of the affected area before moisturizer. I used my clean finger so I don't get the top of the pen dirty with my pimple even though I've cleaned my face/the area.

The gel goes on the skin and creates a clear film to protect the area as it heals (sort of like "New Skin" does for a cut). It feels really nice and cool and dries quickly. The product does not affect the way your make-up looks. Apply primer and moisturizer as usual.

*Brand: Clean & Clear
*Medicine: 2% Salicylic Acid
*Warning: Skin irritation and dryness is more likely to occur if you use another topical acne medication at the same time.
*Allergies: Product contains Shellfish Protein

I saw this and have been seeing commercials on the new paste one. I have been meaning to get it and try. I have been buying so many new pimple treatments and all of them are from Clean & Clear.

I was sceptical about whether this product would protect my skin and when combined with the use of the blackhead/whitehead removing tool my pimples disappear basically the next day.
