In yesterdays post about the base polish (Paradise Pink by Pixi) I said I would share the design I put over it. Well, this is it! I was sitting at the table flipping through my image plates and decided to combine the image of a bird and an image of a feather into a design together. The feathers and birds are from a set of MASH image plates.

I started by stamping on the image of the birds. I only chose to put them on a couple of fingers per hand. Then, I stamped in the feathers, randomly across the nails. I was going to leave it alone at that point but then figured I'd perch the birds on a branch, so I used a Sinful Colors art polish and swiped in some branches. Of course, that should have been the end of the design but...nope. No restraint. I attempted to draw in some swirls and dots. Some of them turned out better than others (ahem: the ring finger and somewhat the pinky) I'm not real pleased with the middle finger but wasn't about to remove it all. Trying to remove just the one portion would have been difficult, too, because black likes to smudge if you aren't extremely careful and then you're left chasing smudges and hoping not to remove the base polish at the same time.. just not worth it.

I do really like the black over the purple-pink base. The contrast is nice, in my opinion. OH, and the stamping was done with Sinful Colors regular polish in Black on Black! Man, that polish is amazing! I highly recommend it, even just for solid black manicures. It is inky and glossy.
