I couldn't avoid the temptation of another Julep mystery box so I ended up ordering one last week. It arrived on Monday. I did get one of the small boxes this time around. The first mystery box I ordered I got lucky and got the big box that had several products and a $120 gift certificate. I used a portion of that gift certificate to order this second box, so I'm not really out anything. The mystery box was $19.99 and you are guaranteed at least $60 worth of product and up to $200. Mine is the minimum of $60.00.
I received three polishes and their fast dry top coat. I'm not a big fan of their top coat, though, and I already own January. Gayle and Amy are new to my collection. Even though I already own January, I'm glad I didn't get an ugly color. Some of the colors in other boxes didn't appeal to me.
In total I received another of their daylight defense lip balms with SPF (you remember, the one that smells like a delicious peppermint patty but tastes like poison... yup.), fast dry top coat, three polishes, and an emery board. I know a lot of people don't like this nail file because it is a cheapy one, but I actually really like them. I have three now. The grit on one side is very, very fine which I enjoy because it gives a smoother edge when filing. It doesn't snag and leave sharp little chunks like some other cheap ones can.
All in all, nothing fabulous, but that is part of the game in playing when ordering a mystery box. You are taking a bargain and hoping you'll get one of the big boxes. I don't think I'll be ordering another mystery box for a while. The more months I keep my subscription with them, the higher the chance of me getting duplicates when I order the mystery box.

All the nail polishes you got are lovely!
all of the nail polishes are sooo pretty!
You got three great colors. I really like how Amy looks. The mystery boxes always seem fun because you never know what you're going to get.
I like the concept of getting a mystery box esp when you're guaranteed to get products pricier then what you paid!
these look nice!
Diana Khoubaeva: nope, they aren't really. The mystery boxes TEND to be colors from past boxes that they have too much stock on and need to get rid of.
the colours don't seem very summery. especially the darkest one.
very nice polishes
cassie marie: yes! Absolutely yes! They will send you an email with a preview of the items you'll be getting in your box (for the regular monthly boxes, not the mystery box) and if you decide you don't want it you can skip it entirely and not be charged, you can opt out of your box and select a box with colors you enjoy more, or you can even send that months box to a friend as a gift.
do they let u skip months if u decide u dont want it
Nice polishes you got
gorgeous polishes!
wow awesome colours!
Wendy Smiles: the mystery box is just a bonus, but you don't have to buy it if you don't want to. It tends to be a better deal than the typical monthly boxes.
good products
gorgeous shade
i just ordered, for only a penny, i couldn't resist!!
I received the June Mystery Box e-mail and I put it in my cart ... but haven't checked out. I'm tempted. I'm seriously tempted.
All of these shades don't look bad and these mystery box is sort of complex I don't really understand much about it :p!
Lyndsay PixiePolish: I'm not a huge fan of mini bottles either but I figured what the hay since there were really only two colors I liked from that collection and one of them was included in the trio. I of course figured I would throw Cynthia in the order as well since I was already paying the shipping. lol
Karen Zhou: I think that is precisely why I'm not over the moon. I have hundreds upon hundreds of nail polishes and it is hard to really impress me anymore. I feel like I've seen it all.
Mylinh Nguyen: when I first signed up I think I skipped one month but have been getting them recently.
Jen Liang: yeah, it sounds like some of the subscription services out there are going downhill.... at least the way it has been seeming.
Lindz girlintheglasses: I didn't. I don't care for mini bottles and already owned the colors they had selected :-(
PCY <3: no? Hang around here long enough and you'll see people post about it, lol!
Kaytee A: Amy is a pretty one. I won't deny that I'm pleased to have that one.
Those are such a pretty color! I've never ordered mystery box but im already tempted to
wow, great nail polish
although you thought it was nothign fabulous, it seems pretty nice to me still! :) maybe thats because i'm a nail junkie, lOL :D
i think julep polishes are really nice! i havent ordered from them in a couple of months though
Julep boxes sound like a really good service for somebody who loves nail polishes. I wish the makeup subcription boxes could just stick to makeup.
I am still on the fence about the Julep Maven subscription. Perhaps I'll give it a go in the coming months. By the way, were you able to get one of the free Zoya Pinterest Mini Trios today? They initially intended to distribute 2000, but then they decided to make 300 more available later today. If not, they now have this promo available http://zoyanailpolish.blogspot.de/2012/06/zoya-beach-and-surf-collection...
Never heard of Julep Maven, but their packaging is appealing.
Amy looks like a really pretty color! I wanna try out their boxes sometime!
love:)
pretty colors!
thanks for sharing!
Hm... I might have to order!
