At a human library you actually check out a person, not a book, and for 30 minutes you can have a chat with them and find out about the living book you've checked out.
They idea is to aid people in overcoming any prejudices or misunderstandings you might have on a variety of topics, such as religion, disfigurement and transgenderism
There are many human libraries, a list of them can be found at human-library.org.
