Contrary to belief (and name of the restaurant...), Salad King is actually a Thai restaurant! located in Toronto, Canada. Check out their source link for their menu and location etc. etc. =)

I haven't written a "food" post in awhile and I realized that there's actually a lot of reviews that I'd like to do/recipes to post, so this is the first. One of my bffs actually work here as a waitress and during one of my trips downtown, my friends and I decided to visit her ^^ We never tried Salad King before this so we had no idea what to expect....

The first picture is their traditional Pad Thai (listed as Pud thai on the menu). This was my dish and I'm SUPER picky with this dish since it's one of my favorites and only two restaurants I've tried have done this right. The traditional dish is actually spicy, but this one wasn't (which is good for me since I'm not a spicy-fan anyways =P)... I skipped on the peanuts and coriander etc. but the actual noodles, sauce and chicken was all done well.

My friend had the Seafood fried rice which is the second picture. I thought it was actually mediocre since I'm also picky with my fried rice dishes (being Asian and having eaten SO many in my lifetime.... lol =S). It was a little too seasoned and salty for me... however there was a fair bit amount of seafood which I was surprised about.

As for the price range, it's actually VERY affordable in my opinion. The plate/dish size is fair (or bigger than I imagined) and the value you get is well worth it. The environment and actual restaurant is on the second floor and there's a lot of room... but half the restaurant looks like a cafeteria which I thought looked weird. It's a pretty busy restaurant, and there's usually a wait on weekends =( Not LONG since it's considered "fast" food rather than "long-romantic" meals.

In general, I'd definitely go back if I lived in Toronto or close enough... but since I don't and I usually go for special occasions, I'd probably pass. There's a ton of other restaurants to try downtown and Salad King (to me), is more like a sit-down, fast-food restaurant where you'd go as a student in-between classes for a full meal and delicious affordable food.
