On both trips to Hawaii we went to Nobu and we were glad we did. It's pretty hard to get reservations and it is in the Parc Hotel where the cast of Lost stayed when they filmed in Hawaii and on both occasions since we couldn't dine in the restaurant on days and times we wanted we sat at the bar and were served by Kenny both times who was really helpful in telling us where to get cheap liquor and seafood salad when we were there. We ordered an assortment of cold and hot dishes and dessert.
We started with the Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno in picture 1, a scallop dish which was a special for the day, a salmon special, and also the black cod saikyo miso. We had the black cod on both visits because it was literally the best cod we've ever had in our life. I don't remember a lot about the meal because it had been quite a long day of hiking and I just really wanted to eat, but it was all delicious. We ordered some drinks and I had the kumquat and cilantro martini, the man ordered some drink I can't remember in picture 6 and then ordered the pineapple vodka martini I think or something along the lines of that lol. All drinks were $14 each and they do not skimp on the liquor in these as I was pretty out of it after one drink which is why I only had one beverage. When you know your words start a slurring you know it's hit you lol.
For dessert the man had the Grilled Goat Cheese Pound Cake which has black pepper ice cream, lemon curd, raw Kiawe honey, macadamia nut liqueur foam, seared strawberries & carmelized macadamia nuts. That was quite tasty but the Bento Box I had with Flourless chocolate cake, goma tuile and green tea ice cream was so much more tasty, but I am a fan of chocolate cake and so was he because he kept trying to eat mine lol.
Which dessert would you have preferred to eat?
Have you eaten at Nobu?
What did you think?
Pictures are mine and you do not have permission to use them.
