This past weekend I had my 16th birthday party. It was nothing major, but still a good size party. This is the cake :) I'm very happy with is, and here is the story behind it...
We were going to order it, but my mom waited until the last minute and it would have been really expensive for a rush order. My aunt is a great baker and she said she could make it herself for half the price. The original one did not look exactly like this, but this one is perfect too. Considering she made it in two days with work too, It came out looking amazing!
The cake has 3 tiers. It is all chocolate inside and out. The outside is fondant with pink polka-dot sugar paper. The bow on top was hand made (not exactly sure on the process). Everything beside the candle is home and hand made, edible too. It tasted amazing! It is now my favorite birthday cake of all time. To make everything cost about $100.
