Food » Foil Baked Pasta

Earlier today I was browsing through the food universe and came across a post where they took that nights dinner and transferred it to the oven to bake a bit. I immediately knew that is what I wanted to make for my and my son's lunch today.

I made just enough for the two of us and it was super simple. I just boiled some pasta until tender and then drained it and mixed it some pasta sauce until well coated. That, I then transferred to a "hobo bag" (two layers of aluminum foil that you pull together to close and it looks like a hobo bag) and covered with 3 different cheeses I had on hand. It went into the oven for 25 minutes and then I just dipped out some for my son and ate mine right out of the little foil packet. Hey, less dishes that way, lol!

This was a fantastic way to get that baked ziti kind of feel but quicker and in a much smaller portion that I wanted.

I love baked pasta! I always order it when I go out to eat. I always like how the cheese is so nicely and evenly melted in baked pasta.

I never knew you could cook pasta this way, it is a good way to avoid having to wash all those dishes after the food coma from your delicious pasta kicks in!

I like to buy the individual plates. Walmart has really small aluminum ones, and that's what I use. I would think I would be super messy at that and puncture the foil.

Baked pasta is the best!! I usually cook leftovers in a pan and add the cheese, but this hobo bag method seems to work well too. I'm sure your son enjoyed this meal. :)
