I have so many postings that have been just sitting here and collecting dust. On top of being busy with school, I've also been sick for the past two weeks so I've been too lazy to take pictures. So the next several postings might be from quite some time ago...
The colder weather is starting to sneak up on us here in SoCal and that means it's time to break out the coats and jackets :) . I really love winter fashion because I love to layer and I love all the different coats and jackets that are available.
I wasn't planning on buying a coat when I walked into H&M, but my friend found this amazing coat for me and I couldn't leave the store without buying it. Plus, it was the only one left in my size so it was all the more reason for me to get it.
I tend to have trouble with coats because I'm short so I have to be careful with the length otherwise I end up looking even shorter than I already am. I'm also wide around my hip area area so I like coats and tops that cinch in at the waist to create more balance and to help emphasize my waist.
I was a little hesitant about the coat because it looked a little long, but after trying it on, I fell in love with it. I noticed that the material is quite heavy/thick which is a plus because I don't want a coat that can't keep the cold out. It's 100% cotton so the jacket feels amazingly soft. I also really liked the color because I don't own anything like it in my closet. I have mostly black, navy blue, or white coats/jackets. I like the small details such as the thick stitching throughout the jacket. The area where the shoulders and arm meets is slightly puffed up so it's another cute little detail. The button on the collar is a snap button and then there are 4 regular buttons. There are also 2 additional snap buttons that are underneath so you can't see them, but you can button up the rest of the jacket. The two pockets in front are roomy and have the thick stitch detailing.
Overall, it's a great jacket and I've worn it several times now. I've worn it with a dress and I've worn it with a casual outfit.
