Towards the end of April I made a post on how to revamp your old jewelry with nail polish! That post seemed to be quite a hit so I decided to do another one but this time using neon nail polish due to the fact neon colors are huge right now!
I had seen a few gurus use this technique on YouTube therefore I decided to give it a try. Do you guys remember that necklace I purchased several weeks ago from eBay that I was very discontent with because of the color? Well I decided to give it a makeover!
The thing with neon nail polish is that it tends to be a little tricky to apply. It also tends to always dry matte so a top coat is very much needed, especially if you want the outcome to be somewhat glossy.
For this necklace, I used two nail polishes by Sinful colors in 24/7 and Neon Melon as well as a clear topcoat. I think I applied about 3 coats of each polish to the necklace but some neon nail polishes may require more or less. As soon as I let the final coat dry I applied a topcoat.
Now, you don't have to use neon polish if that's not your thing. Choose any color of your choice! I actually might end up removing the nail polish sooner or later and apply black nail polish for a more chic look.
The great thing about this is that the color is not permanent! If you get sick of a color or if it doesn't look like you expected it to, use your usual nail polish remover and start over!

not quite as pretty as yours, but i like it!
I have to try this! Yor necklace look way much better with the nailpolish! And it's so great that you can chage it when ever you like! this is a great idea!
Choi ❤: i think it would take a lot for it to chip =)
Cassandra ♡: i ended up painting it black lol
It looks much more fun and bright after it's neon makeover and you could give it a change whenever you want. I like the idea, it's very creative but I'd be scared if the polish chipped whilst wearing or the polish remover had some effect on the jewellry.
That's awesome! I have that necklace - also bought on eBay and I actually love the color :P but I might try this someday! Very unique idea :)

No way!! What an amazing idea! The necklace looks ten times better than what it originally look like and the fact that you can "erase" the color and start all over again is genius!

Raine N: ooo mint would be sooo nice!!! if you decided to do it please do a post on it I would love to see it =)
crispy ☮: I didnt like how the bone color looks against my pale skintone lol. I think I am going to paint it black but not sure if I do post on it because I think you guys will be sick of my nail polish jewelry posts lol
This is very creative. I like that you can use different nail polish colors to make the piece right on trend with whatever is popular for the season. Removing the polish won't eat away at the piece, though? I'd think that it would mess up the finish or texture of the metal.
liliana this looks fabulous! i love how creative and resourceful you are!!
I really love the final result! the necklace looks so nicer with the neon combo!
WOW!!! That looks great!!!!! =D I should try something like this.

Wow, I would have never thought of painting my jewelery. You did a really great job at matching the two polish colours! And I love how you can remove the colours afterwards!

You are so amazing! I have to echo what Crispy said, have you thought of going into for yourself? I think you would make a fabulous stylist (your ootd's are awesome!!) or interior designer. This diy is so awesome!
