Blake Lively who recently appeared in new action flick "Savages," has been named the new face of the "Gucci Première" scent. After appearing as the face of Chanel's "Mademoiselle" handbag in 2010, it seems like Blake is in high demand by the fashion industry!
According to Gucci creative director Frida Giannini, this new "essence for women" is inspired by "timeless Hollywood glamour and the iconic leading ladies of Hollywood's golden era."
The ad campaign will feature Blake in a series of black and white photographs shot by photographer duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot. Blake will also appear in a short film by "Drive" director Nicolas Winding Refn. The piece will be shown this September, at the Venice Film festival.
I think Blake most certainly embodies "old Hollywood" in this ad. To me, she looks part Lauren Bacall, part Veronica Lake, and part Grace Kelly. The perfume itself is pretty neat. I got a sample from my local Gucci boutique and I would describe the smell as a musky, leathery Earl Grey sprinkled with flowers.
