Rapper/actor Xzibit is not impressed with the current craze "planking" after he learned that this position was once used in the slave trade. He found out that slaves were made to lie in similar positions in ships' cramped cargo holds as they were transported between countries. He wrote on his twitter that "Planking is the dumbest s**t ever. Planking was a way to transport slaves on ships during the slave trade, it's not funny. Educate yourselves." "Don't get it twisted. I care less where your dumb a**es lay face down and take pictures of the s**t, I'm just telling you where it came from."
I personally think the trend/craze is stupid and don't know why people think it's so cool to do this. What's really the point and how did it even catch on because it seems really pointless and like a waste of time.

Planking is getting out of hand forreals. I saw a picture of my den people in the kitchen planking. I mean there was about 7 people.. lol

I too still don't get this whole plank craze. I don't see any meaning on that or see where it could be funny. Fun in a way to try to do that position i still kinda of get, but besides that i don't get it. But hey, at least they are not hurting anyone by it

Planking is dumb. What's the point of it? Its stupid.
Some of the planking pics I've seen have been HILARIOUS because it will just be some goofy guy doing it on his porch or on a bench somewhere, but I don't like the pictures I see of kids doing it on overpasses or bridges. Some people have even died from this. As far as the thing about slavery goes, I think this guy seems like the kind of person who probably goes around trying to find anything he can to call racism. This guy would probably call the director of X-men First Class a racist because the black guy was the first one to die in the movie.
