A few weeks ago I blogged about a very sick special high school student, who just wanted one wish.....Not to win the lottery, or to go to a sporting event, or even to go away on a fabulous vacation....Eighteen year old TKevin McGuire from Somerdale, NJ, is a special high schooler sick with leukemia...
Kevin recently asked Taylor Swift on Facebook, if she would be his prom date in June...... Taylor Swift declined the offer.....But she may have actually given him an even better counteroffer.....She asked him to accompany her to a prestigious awards show in April, instead!!.....
Sunday night was the The Academy of Country Music Awards, where Taylor invited Kevin to attend as her date.......However, Kevin was too sick to attend the event.....His almost date, Taylor, did however send him a special shout out to let him know she did not forget about him!...
While receiving her Entertainer of the year award, Taylor made a special shout out......“My date tonight was supposed to be a high school football player named Kevin McGuire and he’s not here, but I promised I’d give him a shout out,”.......“Kevin and all your family and all your friends, thank you for wanting to take me to the ACMs.”
Kevin, a senior at Sterling High School, has been undergoing treatment at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and initially hoped to take the pop star to his senior prom.... Kevin’s sister, Victoria, created a Facebook page for Kevin to help get the word out about his prom date idea....After months Taylor actually responded to the idea!...
Swift replied, saying she could not make it to the prom, but came back with a better offer......She invited McGuire to the Academy of Country Music Awards...Being an 18 year old guy, Kevin accepted, who wouldnt!?!?!?....However sadly, he fell ill on Friday, and had to be hospitalized, and was unable to make it to Las Vegas.
Fortunately, McGuire’s health improved and he was later released from the hospital. He and his friends were able to watch Swift’s shout out on television.
