This one, by Free People, is made from a slub jersey cotton so that it's not as heavy as wearing a long denim jacket and so you can move in it easily. It buttons fully down the front as well. It’s very simple and I only used a few products! • Maybelline Tough as Taupe Color Tattoo: I applied this all over the lid • Wet N’ Wild Silent Treatment eyeshadow trio: I used all 3 of the colors in this trio and used all 3 shades accordingly. • M.A.C. blacktrack fluidliner • Neutrogena healthy volume mascara • M.A.C. Orb: even thought I used the highlight shade from the silent treatment trio in addition I also added Orb as a highlight. • Maybelline define-a-brow brow pencil • Maybelline brow gel The lid shade from the silent treatment trio which is a shimmery slightly purple taupe color is a great shade to layer over the matte grey tough as taupe color tattoo. I got my case from Amazon, depending on the seller, you can save a couple of bucks here and there. I think I got my case for around $5 which isn't too bad. I don't really need it at home but I really wanted to bring a laptop to whenever I go on vacation such as when I went to Florida during the beginning of January. The laptop that I purchased is the HP Pavilion g6x Series in the color pacific blue since blue is one of my favorite colors. The price of the laptop was $424.99 and with tax it came to be about $460.00 which I think it is a pretty good deal and I am pleased with it. Here are the specs of my laptop: 15.6" LED screen. It is not a small size laptop, so it is pretty heavy to carry around. I got in the shade pacific blue which is beautiful. I kind of wish I got the purple instead at the end but I am still happy with it. Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 4GB DDR3 System Memory 500GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive Intel Core i3-370M + Intel(R) HD Graphics 6-Cell Lithium-Ion Battery (standard) - Up to 4.25 hours of battery life HP Webcam with Integrated Digital Microphone 802.11b/g/n WLAN Standard Keyboard I am not a type of person who knows a lot about computers and stuff like that. I only needed a laptop that can do it's basic needs and nothing too outstanding since I don't game or anything. I just browse most of the time, so my brother recommended me to get this one. I am happy with it but the only con I have about it is that the battery life kind of sucks. It doesn't really last up to 4 hours like it claims but oh well, I can always get another battery as back up if anything. Overall, I am please with it and happy I finally got a laptop, now I don't need to fight over my computer with my boyfriend when he is over LOL =) Do you prefer a PC or a Laptop? Do you own a laptop? What if underwater sports exist like underwater boxing? Would you want to try it out? This isn't a real sport for many reasons because no one can stay underwater for a long period of time, the hits won't hurt as much because we're in water and overall it would be hard to play/watch plus what are you supposed to do with the boxing ring? Throw it in the ocean? However if this was a real sport [which it has been] it would be pretty cool to witness. But, I know I can't hold my breath under water so I wouldn't be able to box underwater unless I box then dive up for some air then back down, lol. The only dangers of underwater boxing would be that you can drown or a shark comes and attacks you.. nothing else whereas real boxing you can be physically injured if someone punched you in the face hard or your teeth can be knocked out.. or worst! My reason for visiting NOLA was threefold. One to attend a comic book convention down there. Two to site see and experience some really good food. And three to meet some great fellow Luuuxers. Mission Accomplished! Pic 1: This is a pic from Bourbon Street which is well known for Madi Gras. There are a lot of restaurants and Gentlemen Clubs like this one. Pic 2: This is the typical building in the French Quarters. Even though it's in the French Quarters the buildings there are actually of Spanish design. The reason is because while the French owned NOLA for a longer time, it was when the Spaniards owned NOLA that there were two big fires and the Spaniards rebuilt the buildings in their style. (I learned this from a tour guide. LOL) Pic 3: Is the St Louis cementary #3 which I visited on a bus tour. I learned that most of the coffins and burials are done above ground because if the bodies was put in the ground the bodies would FLOAT up to the surface during heavy rain. YIKES! Pic 4 & 5: Is a little place called Musical Legends Park. It's full of statues of famous New Orleans musicians. As well they have a bar and Beignet restaurant with LIVE music every evening! Pics 6, 7, 8: This is from the French Market which is a really cool place to get fresh fruits, souvenairs and knick knacks as well as local artist stuff. Pic 7 is of Joan of Arc which the Tour Guide explained had nothing to do with New Orleans but was just a gift from the French. Okay.... Pic 9: Is the St. Louis Cathedral. It's very beautiful. There's a large garden in front of it and in front of that there are horse carriages waiting to give tourists rides. Also in front of the Cathedral while I was there was a Jazz band playing. =) Pic 10: This wasn't the Jazz band playing but a blues band playing on Royal Street. Royal Street is full of galleries and every few blocks you would see bands playing for money on the streets. A lot of them dress up as hobos (or maybe they are) and with really cool names. =) Pic 11: This was on our way to the Riverwalk with Marlene D and Marie Lisa. If you don't recognize the art it's a shame! He's the father of kinetic art and has sculptures all over the world including the Holocaust Museum in New York City, Yaacov Agam! Pic 12: Last but not least is a pic of the girls on the street car tracks waiting to get run over. LOL j/k We're at the Riverwalk entrance which is basically a shopping complex by the water and right where the cruise ships leave from. Sorry for the terribly pixelated dark pictures. I wanted to show you one of the unique item that's hanging in my room. Decor is what I love. Here's a wall candle holder. Its just a single piece that has this medal object attached to it. Its like a plate where you can sit your candle. As you can see I'm using a LED candle. I find it easily using these types of candles. You do NOT want to sit a wick candle on it because knock on wood... You don't want it to tilt over and burn your house and what not. I really like the piece because its different. It has different colors and is in a mosaic type of form? It looks like Art to me if you move the candle aside. On the side it shapes like the letter "S." Questionnaire: 1. I was oh so lucky enough to have a mom who did both to my hair (and I say that through a fake smile and clenched teeth!). Well, the other day Lilly Mah and I had a few 1980's flashbacks and the topic of crimpers came up. Therefore, I decided to go dig mine up, and when I mean dig, that means that I had to remove quite a few things from the bathroom cabinets to find it. It's been stashed away for so long that everything has just been piled on top of it. The brand is called La Crimp and it comes with three interchangeable hot plates: flat, tight crimp, and wavy crimp. My favorite was always the wavy crimp which has a wider space in between each ridge. I never really used the flat plate to straighten my hair (since straight hair was a faux pas in the 80's). It was crimp-o-mania for me whether we had a special occasion or was going to school. I'm surprised my hair wasn't fried after all the times my mom crimped it! As you can see in the photos, the crimper is old and has developed a stain on top of it. I've tried scrubbing it off but it's there to stay. The plates were very easy to change with a push of the button found on the inside edge. They just pop out and you click the one you want back in. There are also two pouches to place the other plates in which kept them safe (obviously you would have to wait for them to cool down or they would melt the plastic). The crimper works with a simple on off switch and there isn't a temperature setting but it does get pretty hot. The "waves" would develop after a 30 second waiting time, but since I had tons of hair, my mom would need a good hour to finish it all lol. Since the crimper gives your hair lots of volume, you can just imagine how huge my hair looked! :/ You can also lock the plates together for better storage and to heat up the styling tool by spinning the round wheel at the center of the crimper's handle. If you grew up after the 1980's and don't know what a crimper is, watch the YT video I've included. It'll take you back to a time when hairspray fumes made us actually think our hair looked cool! lol Have you ever used a crimper? Would you use one today if you had the chance?
