I LOVE dark walls. It may be because I grew up in the south and they're not affraid of color on the walls. The family room and kitchen (connected but with a step down into the family room) in the house i grew up in was a dark, forest green. The downstairs powder room was a beautiful, bright, medium blue. They foyer and upstairs hall was a mid-tone bright, warm yellow. My bathroom was a deep goldenrod.

But navy and cream is just so nice! The neighbor across the street had a deep blue, almost jacquard-style, wallpaper in her dining room and cream upholstered dining room chairs, as well as cream upholstered arm chairs in the bay window on either side of a small sitting table.

Navy and cream just look so classic and classy. It reminds me a little of the American Revolution and how George Washington and Thomas Jefferson decorated their homes. It's so timeless!
