I think the dream of any makeup lover is to be able to have a designated area in their home where they can sit down to do there makeup. For years, I would have to do my makeup on top of my bed or on my couch leading to very dirty couches and having to wash my comforter more often than usual.
So after several years I finally have enough room in my home to have my own vanity area. And I had been eyeing the Ikea Malm dressing table for a while now so I knew I had to get it soon. This weekend the hubby and I decided to make a quick trip to Ikea. Its over 30 minutes away but I think it was worth the drive.
The Ikea Malm dressing table is one of the nicest, sleekest vanity tables I have seen. I wanted something a little bit more streamline and contemporary than those vintage inspired vanity tables I see everywhere so the Malm dressing table was perfect. I also love how there is just enough room for all of my makeup (minus all my huge coastal scents palettes). I also love how it comes with a glass top which is perfect for me because I tend to be messy when applying my makeup. The vanity table was only $129.00 !
To dress my makeup area up, I brought in my old zebra rug that I had in my bedroom, added a few accessories such as my favorite candle, a lamp, a vanity mirror, and I also brought in one of the sunburst mirrors I made (by the way I have been selling these for a few months now and have sold like 50 them already! What brought my vanity area together was this awesome faux cream leather ottoman I found at Ross on clearance for only.... $14.99!!! These ottomans run over $100 everywhere and are sold at Ross for 60 bucks but since it had tiny slash they marked it down 75%. I was really excited when I found this because I had been wanting one of these forever. Inside the ottoman I added all my hair styling tools (see picture #4).

It's absolutely amazing! And it was a steal. Margaret W. in my last post stated that she saw a similar one at Brookstone for over $100. This one was less than $20.
In the corner of my makeup area I added a chair and some magazines. All I need to do now to complete this space is to put up some window treatments and get some flowers for my vanity table.

that is a gorgeous vanity space! i think biancablovesu from youtube has the same table. its really sleek, but i dont know if it'd fit all my stuff x.x im currently using an old computer desk for my stuff, but i'd love to have a real vanity area someday. :)

Shannon ツ: LOL! Or you can do what hubby and I did.....use one of the rooms as a bedroom, one as a guest room and the third bedroom as an office/makeup room. haha. The house we live in has a garage that was turned into a bonus room/4th bedroom so we are thinking about turning that into an office so that way I can have the makeup room all to myself buahahahaha lol
You're always finding the best deals! This vanity is beautiful and very well priced. I have a vanity i got a few years ago for around 100 dollars but its not as near as nice as yours. The zebra rug and decorations really looks pretty too!
