This was a present from a former sorority sister. She used this as a way of hiding extra gifts inside, so it was a gift within a gift. It was a really cute idea and I wanted to share it with the LUUUX community.
MATERIALS YOU NEED:
- wooden chest
- paint
- paint brushes
- additional decorative wooden pieces, like letters
All of these items can be purchased from Michaels, Hobby Lobby, or any local arts and crafts store. They're inexpensive and make for a great project.
My former sorority sister decided to paint the chest white, light blue, and yellow. She got two wooden stars to put alongside my name. The letters she used for my name are a little more on the expensive side, but you can easily opt for cheaper letters.
To paint the chest, she used a lot of tape for the straight lines, but how you paint it and what you use is entirely up to you. It's a fun and inexpensive project and the chest can be reused unlike wrapping paper.

This is super cute and I really like how she did your name. I made a similar for my little a few years ago. I bought the chest from Joann's.
